The Curse of the Bride and Groom
()
About this ebook
Newlyweds who just moved into their new home struggle with a supernatural force that threatens their new marriage. The Curse Of The Bride And Groom is a short story from the short story collection book "When Life Strikes Midnight." Check out the book so you can read the rest of my stories in that collection!
In more detail: Shade and Odema marry at a beach, then move into a new house just up the hill. As they begin their life as newlyweds, problems among the couple are revealed. Shade worries when Odema becomes short-tempered as a result of her addiction to a dangerous wish-granting board she'd secretly been using. Odema wishes Shade would care less about what she does. The next day, her wish comes true, and what seems to be great at first, predictably doesn't turn out the way she expected. Shade's "don't care" attitude extends to every aspect of their life, which results in him quickly becoming cold, distant, and robotic. Eventually, the lack of health brings Shade to the brink of death. Now Odema has to face the consequences of her actions, confronting the witch responsible for granting her wish and getting rid of the wish-granting board before it is too late.
About The Author
I spend most of my time reading, writing, or creating art. When I am not doing any of those things, I am listening to music or obsessively binge-watching animated shows and movies. I always have my head in the clouds, daydreaming of all sorts of ridiculously divine things that transport me away from the real world, and I love moving through life that way. I live happily somewhere on planet Earth.

The Curse of the Bride and Groom - Sharon Forester
Some people say that relationships don’t work out because the love fades or the other person changes or they can’t agree on something. Most of the time, when people get into a relationship or start a marriage, they expect perfection and believe they can only survive on love. That’s not true. If you really love someone, you have to be willing to deal with their weaknesses, not only their strengths. Sometimes I feel like I have the perfect relationship, but as I look back on my life, I remember all the obstacles I’ve hit. Everyone has that one time where they’ve messed up pretty bad. Bad things happen. It’s a part of life. You just have to get through them. When a problem occurs, get some air. Maybe play a game or two, like I do.
I was running across the beach. I was screaming. I was looking for a volleyball I finally found. I turned my attention to my boyfriend Shade and threw the ball at him. He caught it but fell to the ground with it. I laughed as I went over to help him up.
Get over here with that ball, love birds, so we can keep playing!
Shade and I looked over at our best friend Luis.
Fine.
I grabbed the ball from Shade, ran to the others and threw it at them.
Odema, wait for me!
Shade arrived next to me.
I looked at him with a smirk. You’re slow.
I know, cutie-pie,
he grinned.
I giggled, and then looked at the others. Guess what?
Did something happen when you guys wandered off prancing like magical pixie horses?
asked my cousin Jesse sarcastically.
I laughed. No. But I’m getting married!
I screamed. Everyone else joined
