In more detail: Orphaned sisters Zylia and Alondra find solace in their local library, where their shared love for books whisks them away from the harsh realities of life. Within the hallowed walls, they form a deep bond with Jeb, the caretaker of this literary haven. However, their lives take an extraordinary turn when a mysterious book reveals its secret power to transport them through time. Flipping the blank pages back and forth, they embark on a thrilling journey across different eras, experiencing both wonder and peril. Yet, as they venture further, the sisters begin to long for the familiar embrace of the library and its caretaker—the place that feels like home to them.
About The Author
I spend most of my time reading, writing, or creating art. When I am not doing any of those things, I am listening to music or obsessively binge-watching animated shows and movies. I always have my head in the clouds, daydreaming of all sorts of ridiculously divine things that transport me away from the real world, and I love moving through life that way. I live happily somewhere on planet Earth.

Trapped In Time - Sharon Forester
I, Zylia, and my sister Alondra were playing by a park near an orphanage we lived in. It happened to be a mansion filled with kids and teenagers with a butler and a nanny to help out. This orphanage was a rich one, so everything was fancy. My sister and I were living okay. We couldn’t complain about the life we had. Although surrounded by all these riches, it still didn’t feel like home for us. We mostly felt at home whenever we were around the butler Winston, who was supervising us at the moment while we got some fresh air and a break from the mansion folks.
Imagine if we had a dad,
Alondra said to me as I gave her a push while she sat on a swing of the swing set. We were wearing casual outfits: t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers.
I don’t think it’s going to happen.
It could be Jeb.
He’d be a great father,
I nodded. But he can’t be.
Why not?
Because he’s not our father.
But you love him. You treat him like he’s your father.
It doesn’t matter.
You can’t be stuck living in the past. Mom and Dad didn’t see that car coming and—
Drop it, Alondra. Jeb is a great friend, but nothing more. I get it, it would be nice to have a father like Jeb in our life. But that’s nothing but a dream that won’t come true right now.
Alondra dropped her feet on the ground, no longer feeling the strength to keep swinging. I stopped pushing her. She looked as if I just crushed her hopes and dreams, and I felt bad for making her sad. Jeb, the friend we were talking about, was a great man and a librarian. When we met him, we were immediately attached to him. We went to the library often with Winston to hang out with him. Those times have suddenly become rare because my sister and I convinced Winston to ditch his duties at the mansion to hang out with us at the library. One day the mansion owners snapped and drove all the way to the library to threaten to fire Winston and lock me and Alondra away if we didn’t go home right then and stopped our regular hang-outs at the library. So, here we are, having no choice but
