Kick the Habit - Robert L. Casey
Introduction
Before you begin to study this program, these are some thoughts you might consider.
The tobacco industry has known for 20 years that there is a direct correlation between smoking and plaque formation in the blood vessels. The AMA just recently acknowledged that they have known, and accepted, for 10 years that 40% of the male smokers will become impotent – in other words, they will have erectile dysfunction. The cause of this situation is not only the plaque formation inside the blood vessels, but the hardening of the vessels themselves. Female smokers will also suffer plaque formation and hardening of the arteries, which will affect their sexual relations.
RISKS: If you smoke -
~ You will be twelve times more likely to die from lung cancer.
~ You will be ten times more likely to die from some form of lung disease.
~ You will be ten times more likely to die from cancer of the larynx.
~ You will be six times more likely to die of heart disease.
~ You will be twice as likely to die of a stroke.
COST:
If you smoke one pack of cigarettes a day at $6.00 per pack, you spend $2,190.00 per year. If your habit has continued for a period of 20 years, you will spend an incredible $43,800.00! If you smoke two packs for that same period of time, you will spend $87,600.00! Just imagine what that would amount to if invested in a bank savings account at their miserly 2-1/2% interest.
