My Story
When I was in High School, I use the standing joke that the most exercise that I got was from chasing the boys around the school. Of course, as I left home and went to college, I survived dinners and late night study sessions on a one pound bag of M & M's, I guess I was the lucky one, then. I never put on weight.
Let's move forward to childbearing years, I had 6 children within 11 years. That took its' toll on my body. I learned gradually. First my experience as an LPN gave me the health knowledge that I needed on any levels. I quit smoking during my second pregnancy and have never looked back. I made the decision that my children were more important that any darn cigarette, and I wanted to be here a long time to enjoy them and their children. As you know with cessation of smoking, plus being pregnant, I created havoc on my body. So I started looking into the At home Fitness
Let's face it, whether you have one kid or many, finding the time to exercise is very difficult. So I found that fitting in exercise during nap-time was doable for me. I slowly built up a collection of videos, a step, bands, weights, etc... I had many instructors I liked and learned from. Challenging my body was becoming an amazing thing, plus the endorphins released during a workout helped to relieve my depression.
During my 6th pregnancy I was experiencing incredible back pain poor posture, weak muscles and an incredibly large baby made it impossible for me to move without pain. Someone recommended I try this new workout available called T-Tapp, so I checked it out and ordered. I started in with the Total Workout within one week my back pain was relieved. I continued to exercise throughout the rest of my pregnancy, without any further back pain.
Once the baby was born I was able to return to T-Tapp fairly quickly but the baby became sick, and trips to and from hospitals and Doctors made exercise impossible. Flash forward 2 years Oh my, I really let 2 years go by?!) Here I was a 38 year old mother of 6 children, I was in a terrible marriage, I was depressed, but trying to cling on and be something for my children. I was tired of the question Are you pregnant AGAIN?
No... So I dusted off some workout tapes, but eventually returned to T-Tapp. I like the movement in it, how I felt after doing it, the fact that there was no equipment involved. One of the T-Tapp motto's is with T-Tapp Less is More
