The Adventures of Marco and Carla: The Monster of Lake Shan is the 3rd installment in this Tween series. Geared towards 13 and under this series is filled with mystery, adventure, and all kinds of creatures.
In The Monster of Lake Shan, our main characters, Marco, Carla, and their friend Sammie go on a short vacation with their families. On the way, Marco becomes interested in the tale that there is some kind of creature that lives in Lake Shan and it wasn't something nice.
When they get to the lake, everyone is having a good time, until someone disappears. The race is on to find out about the monster and how to get rid of it before it takes someone else.
Shamara S. Davis
Shamara is the author of "The Adventures of Marco and Carla" series and "What Happened to Kerbie Walobee?" She has a talent for writing stories that either send a chill down your spine or take you on a fantastic adventure. Originally from Port Royal, Jamaica, Shamara draws inspiration from the stories she made up as a child. She reminisces about the adventures she and her brother have been on and adds a touch of fright to make them even more enjoyable for readers. While starting by writing for teens and adults, Shamara now focuses on writing stories that are geared toward creating an exciting reading experience. Two of her recent releases, "The Receptionist" and "Altered Genesis," are currently available on Smashwords and have garnered significant attention. Alongside her writing career, Shamara is also a full-time teacher in New York and is currently working on her latest project.

The day began like any other. The light from the sun raced across the top of the still lake, reflecting back the beauty that lay on top.
Papa, are we going to the lake today?
asked an anxious boy. It was his first visit there and he was extremely excited.
Yes Misha, we’re going to the lake. Just give me a few minutes to get our things together,
his father replied.
The boy and his father, along with an uncle and a family friend, packed into his father's little car.
Is the lake as beautiful as mama described it Uncle Dimitri?
Yes Misha, it’s as beautiful as my sister described it. We went there many years ago as children and this will be my first time going back since then.
The group of travelers finally reached the lake to their relief. The joy Misha felt was only overshadowed by the smile on his face. As the others took
