    Henry’s New Friend

    Henry the Hippo and his big brother were on their way to the waterhole. His mum and dad were already there grazing beside it and talking to their friends. As soon as they arrived, Henry’s big brother started to walk off and leave Henry behind.

    Wait up! Henry shouted to his brother, but his brother kept on walking. Henry stood and watched him walk towards a group of older boys, who all stood together talking and laughing. Henry wanted to join in, so he started walking toward them. Go away Henry, his brother shouted whilst turning his back on him. Henry was sad, he only wanted a friend. He walked back to his parents and stood with his head low.

    The next day, Henry’s mum told Henry to get ready to go to the waterhole, but Henry really didn’t want to go.

    What’s wrong, Henry? she asked.
