About this ebook
Irene And The Well
By Jimmy Pontian
Irene was a very happy froggy, who lived with her brother Johnny and her parents, beside Merri Creek. She had a beautiful life, playing with her friends in the creek and on the meadow. It was like a perfumed garden, where rich colours and smells intoxicated them all. It was truly Heaven on Earth.
Irene's life changed dramatically when she started having dreams of a lost froggy called Sud. She is taken on a dangerous and scary adventure through the Dark Forest and into the mysterious Well.
There she discovers a lost group of froggies called the Frags. Irene finds Sud in the Well and is captured herself. The Frags don't know what to do with her and Sud. Irene tells them that she comes from a beautiful sun filled place. Most do not believe her and call her mad. They believe that she will contaminate their society with her crazy ideas.
A rich debate commences within the Frag community. Some believe her but many fear this unknown world. Eventually, two elder chiefs, Haplap and Martar are chosen to accompany Irene and Sud to the new land.
Meanwhile Johnny and a search party brave the dangers of the Dark Forest and meet up with Irene and her expedition at the Well entrance. They journey home together and the reunion of Irene and Sud with their parents is very moving.
Haplap and Martar are overjoyed with the discovery of this new world. They are welcomed into the Merri Creek community and vow to go back to the Well and tell all the Frags about the beauty and wonders of the New World.
Irene had a dream and went on an adventure. But she saw and learnt much more than she could have ever imagined.
