Terra, Ignis and Angelo have become symbols of peacemaking and righting wrongs. In their search to find the murderer of Terra's child, they've made a deal with a god to hunt down the liches responsible for killing Ystava, God of the Afterlife.  We're not starting in a tavern. Our adventurers have already been there, done that. We're starting mid-quest with new characters and a lovingly crafted, connected backstory.
