The practices used are useful in bringing compassion into your life in a variety of ways, and through things that you are already doing.

Implementing the principals into action is life changing for most people; as they find that they can truly begin to realize their dreams, find their path, and make the difference that they have always wanted to make. This workbook in combination with the book Activating Compassion serves as the foundation from which Jesse's workshops, seminars, retreats, fundraisers, and coaching are built.

This workbook helps to understand how to put big concepts into motion with simple actions. It helps people to create balance, success, and valuable relationships. It is a major key to understanding how life works and how to remain connected to Spirit while living on Earth.

    Thanks to the many individuals that have been a part of my path. Some have passed and some are still with me. I appreciate those willing to mentor me along the way. I have much gratitude for the friends that have come, gone, remained in my life and gave me many experiences on my journey. To my family who never gave up on me, believed in me and helped me when times got tough. To Ralph, for encouraging me to, be active with my passion, embrace it, and bring it to life. You have all held a special part in my life and I appreciate you being there while I have taken this journey.

    Preface

    In discussing the work of compassion with others, it is interesting how many people have placed it as something that is reserved for monks, clergy, and others that devote their entire day and night to thought, and practices that developed being compassionate; and being available and of complete service to others. In writing my book Activating Compassion, one of my goals was to make living a compassionate life obtainable. It is my desire, to help people make living a compassionate lifestyle achievable; and something they can implement into everyday life.

    I know from my own journeys of learning, and developing my spiritual blessings, that I particularly remember the wonderful exercises that were provided to me. It was practicing the meditations and visualizations, mantras, prayers, and other practices that have really stuck with me. To this day, I still use some of the first exercises that I ever learned.

    Over time, I continue to blend, re-create, and merge the different things that I have learned. This book is based on things that I have created and developed, for myself and my clients; in order to activate, and more fully implement the compassionate lifestyle into their everyday life. I have created this book to provide additional things that can be done, for those that want to take the concepts of Activating Compassion to the next level.

    When we look at the exercises, tools, and practices; they are ways to increase and compliment the power of our thoughts. This works much in the same way as an exercise or dietary program, enhances the thought of being healthy and fit. They are the things that help connect you further with Spirit or God. When you take action with something, it shows the Universe that, you are sincere and committed to the process; that will manifest miracles and support in your life.

    By increasing our connection with Spirit or God we raise our vibrational level to a space where the obstacles and challenges are removed, and we are free to move forward uninhibited on unrestrained. Compassion keeps this connection alive and active; so the more compassionate we become, the more connected we are. The more connected we are, the more enjoyable our life becomes.

    The Hidden Enemy

    Our key when dealing with our hidden enemy is, to get rid of judgment. As you remember in the main book of Activating Compassion, judgment is the block that keeps us from experiencing the pleasure of compassion. In this chapter, we are going to work on a few key points:

    Judgment shows up in our doubts, fears, worries, pain and creates triggers

    Judgment is existing in our blocks, challenges, and assumptions

    Clear away judgment, and the ways that it appears in our life

    Stop being passive

    Stop sabotaging your own efforts and successes

    You get by giving

    Change judgment to compassion with questions

    Remove excuses

    Acknowledge pain and identify your fear

    Remember, that compassion is your key to removing any difficulty, challenge, frustration, fear, pain or other situation or feeling that keeps you from living a life that you can truly enjoy. Now, many of you may be saying, I’m ready, how do I do it? This is one of the great things about making this shift, you don’t have to worry about the how. Spirit takes care of the how for us. You have already started doing the work, by simply deciding you want to make this change.

    As we learned in the main book Activating Compassion, judgments can show up in our doubts, fears, worries, and pain, and creates triggers. We know that judgment is active in our thoughts and lives when we are experiencing blocks, challenges, and assumptions. Thus the key to experiencing the blessings of living a compassionate life is, to clear away our judgment. The first steps to doing this are, to acknowledge any pain that you feel, and to identify your fears.

    You might be wondering, why don’t we just jump right to the judgment? The reason for this is, that often times we are not aware of what the actual judgments are on a conscious level. Certainly, there are times and situations where we are able to do that; however, many judgments live in our subconscious thought patterns. One of the easiest ways to discover what our judgments are is, to identify other things first.

    Take a minute and think about, what in your life is creating you pain? This could be anything from a relationship, your job, the condition of your health. Keep in mind that pain comes not only in the traditional form of physical suffering, but also from heartache, unhappiness, not being able to pay your bills, carrying too much weight (no matter what the reason). Really tune in to your pain. Once you know what your pains are, acknowledge them as real in your life.

    It is important that in identifying things in our life, that we recognize them as real and existing. If we do not do this, we end up denying and suppressing that pain. When we do this, the pain may become quiet or unseen; but it does not go away. This leads it to start causing more severe pain.

    This happens because, we are not meant to carry pain with us. All pain knows is what it is, pain. So when you hold onto it, you send it the message that you want it to grow and develop. Ponder that thought for a minute; whatever you hold onto will grow and develop.

    When we acknowledge and accept the pain as real, it gives us the opportunity to set it free. Remember, pain is not good or bad, it simply is. By releasing it to the Universe, it can be used for something valuable.

    Now, that you have acknowledged your pains, you are ready to identify your fears. Wow, this can be such a big area to delve into, so let’s break it down a little. Fear is like the devil’s advocate in our head. Now some would call this reason; however, reason is neutral, and it does not keep you from doing things. Also, I should mention that I am not saying fear is bad, just
