About this audiobook

Bodies of young men are turning up, dressed unusually in gowns and posed like dolls. When a tarot reader offers FBI Special Agent Taylor Sage a clue to finding the diabolical serial killer, Taylor has no choice but to open her mind and follow the trail. What she encounters, though, is far more harrowing than anything she expected—and may just change everything she thought she knew.

DON’T LOOK is the debut novel in a new series by critically acclaimed and #1 bestselling mystery and suspense author Molly Black.

FBI Special Agent Taylor Sage has crossed the country and transferred to her dream job with the BAU at Quantico. With a new job, a new house, and her husband by her side, Taylor is ready to put the darkness of her past behind her: a sister who vanished when she was a teenager.

Taylor is ready for a fresh start. But when a tarot reader on the boardwalk offers an uncannily specific prediction about her next case, Taylor, ready to brush it off, is haunted by it—and can’t help noticing that it was accurate.

The BAU is stumped by this new serial killer, by the posed bodies, and it seems only Taylor can decode the riddle. But time is running out, and Taylor will have to use every tool at her disposal to save the next victim, whether she believes in it or not.

Might the tarot reader hold the key?

Or is she leading Taylor down a fatal dead end?

A complex psychological crime thriller full of twists and turns and packed with heart-pounding suspense, the TAYLOR SAGE mystery series will make you fall in love with a brilliant new female protagonist and keep you turning pages late into the night.

Books #2 and #3 in the series—DON’T BREATHE and DON’T RUN—are now also available.

I wanted to like this. But a few things weren't good for me. One, the narration seemed off. I hated the way she pronounced certain words like "didn't, and "button" etc. The main character seemed neurotic and whiney. I felt there wasn't enough depth to the story, not enough detail, it just kind of hopped along.

This was actually really hard to get through. The main character is INCREDIBLY unlikable; She’s very full of herself/thinks she’s the only competent agent in the entire FBI. She’s rude, she’s a terrible partner (and very nearly got her partner killed because she couldn’t just wait a few minutes for them so show up) and is an awful wife. Her poor husband has to deal with someone who couldn’t care less about him bEcauSe ShES sO ImpORtaNt. She on multiple occasions says that she’s the only person who cares that people are dying. You’re in the FBI, I think it’s everyone’s job to care about people getting killed?

Besides her being such an awful character, the case itself was very boring and predictable. The same theme has been done over and over, the only exception being the victims are male rather than female. Which ultimately changes nothing.

I wish I could unread/unlisten to this, and I’ve read some pretty terrible books before.

I have barely begun this but felt compelled to let others know that this is either recorded too slow or the narrator is an obnoxiously slow talker. I had to speed the playback to 1.2 for it to be tolerable.

Loved it. This is the first book I've read by Molly Black, and it won't be my last. Bodies of dead men dressed in designer gowns. A tarot reader who provides clues that FBU agent Taylor Sage questions. Having just moved with her new husband to Virginia to slow down, begin a new life Taylor didn't expect to be thrown into a case before her official start date at the BAU.

Taylor is teamed with a younger, fresh-faced agent. He is as soft spoken and tactful as Taylor is abrupt and rash. They follow the clues, most leading to dead ends. At wits end, Taylor again approaches the tarot reader for "advice".

While I finished this book, once again there is the flawed protagonist, trying to escape her past and move forward. And once again, a female who resents and bristles at any criticism aimed her way, justified or not. And once again, a law enforcement officer who doesn't follow procedure and risks not only her life, but the lives of others. (yes, I still have the Nook app and not Kindle) for having a few free eBooks. The author has several different series, and I was happy this was the first. I really enjoyed the characters, detectives in search of a serial killer.

In the first place; for me to start listening to a FBI suspense thriller......not normal. However, I was impressed with Black's writing and the ability to actually give me the creeps! This one makes you think of the first time that you read 'Silence of The Lambs'. I will definitely read more of her works.

It was very formulaic but perfect for a police procedural. The story was interesting and well written. The narrator was good.

Predictable, from the masculine name of the heroine- Taylor, to her disturbing past etc., etc. Distracting narration.

Susan M has the perfect voice for Taylor. Her reading moved seamlessly between the characters bringing the story to life. The clarity, inflection, pace, and pronunciation made her a real pleasure to listen to. Thank you Susan for wonderful acting of a great story.

Good story. Terrible narration. I would have enjoyed the it a lot more if I read it or if it had a decent narrator. It’s a shame because it really distracts from the story.

I liked the story but the narrative was hard to listen to she dropped letters from words like "imporant" rather than important & several others

Story could have been told in half the words. The narrator’s voice was a bit annoying - she likes to pronounce every. single. word. exactly.

If your going to write a book about an fbi agent at least make her likeable even more so if you are expected to read more books about her exploits. And really...is she that arrogant that she thinks she can solve the murders in 24 hours. And then there is the narrator. She sounds like she's just taken a sleeping pill and it's just taken effect! Got to chapter 11 and just had to stop listening. Taylor is not a heroine I can like!!
