Really liked the book but beware chapter 7 is chapter 29

I got suckered by BookTok into this one ? Man, these little videos of snippets of convos really drag me in! So this one is called a Step-Brother Bully romance, but it’s not really. I found the author only hinted at the step sibling aspect and it wasn’t really all there to make this relationship as taboo as it could’ve been. It was also pretty light on the bully aspect too, not what I’m used to with other darker romance novels.

This book still gets 4 stars and highly recommended as a typical romance novel. Despite me thinking it lacks the tropes called out in the title, this book has SPICE. Like it’s super hot between these two when the sexual tension is peaking before they cave. Just daaaammnnn. It’s a decent storyline, there is a little character development, but it kinda just became background fluff to me as I was listening to it. The side characters are super intriguing and I will continue the series to see how it develops! Give this one a go, and let me know if you think there is more depth that I somehow missed under all the spicy smut ?

I tried listening to this but the audio is missing at least one chapter. It goes from her agreeing to a date, to her step brother waking up with some girl he brought home.

Her whole date in between is missing. Had to go read it on kindle.

I agree with another reviewer that this book was light on the bully aspect and the step sibling trope, but it draws you in with lots of sexual tension and spiciness! Kept me engaged for the whole read. This is my first Brooke O’Brien read so I’m looking forward to checking out other books by this author.
