About this audiobook
I was burned at the stake at fourteen...
I was drowned in a lake when I was twenty-four...
At twenty-seven, I was stoned in a public square...
I have died a hundred times in a hundred different ways, usually at the hands of the humans I've tried to save. But when a pregnant young woman finds her way into my tattoo shop with a demon on her tail, things go from bad to worse. Being a centuries-old witch isn't going to help me - nothing will.
This time I might just die in a way that sticks... Permanently.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I just discovered Annie Anderson. And I'm SO glad I did!
Simply awesome sauce!
I'm almost finished with a second series in two weeks! About to be the third series! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Good book but the MC has an annoying problem of wanting to save everyone ? she comes across. So she gets herself in stupid situations that could be avoided.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Good prose and dialog. Not sure i like any of the characters. It's a short enough listen that I'm likely to check out the second book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really liked Maxima when she was introduced in Mrs. Anderson’s Ashes to Ashes series. I’m so glad she got her own story. Although Maxima makes an appearance in that series you don’t have to read it to enjoy this.
Max is a strong, sweet, caring and broken woman. She has known a lot of heartache and pain in her life. Cast out at young age because she was different from everyone else Maxima is accustomed to being alone. Not having anyone there to love, guide or protect her hasn’t harden Maxima or kept her down though. She forged ahead learning as she went. Maxima is courageous in the face of danger even when there’s a possibility that she might not make it out of a situation alive.
I originally read the book for this and loved it so much that when I heard about the audiobook I wanted it. I was not disappointed either. Cassandra Parker does a wonderful job bringing the characters to life. I absolutely loved it.
It was wonderful to revisit the beginning of Maxima’s journey.
I can’t wait to listen to the next book in this series. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really enjoyed this book, the cursing is annoying but authors choice. I like the fast pace and the way everything is not all roses and butterflies. Made me sad but has some relatable circumstances in it. I recommend it. On to book 2
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A guy falling in love with a pregnant lady within 24 hours is just irritating and pretty creepy and him treating her as if they've been together for ages is just so unrealistic and dumb.
Maxima is great though and the story flows well. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Narrative is fresh and engaging , absolutely adore the sassy inflection of the interpreter, despite she is not the best with accents:):)thanks
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was okay. I don't like the hero to be perfect. But man-- she took a lot of beatings.
