3.5 ⭐️I will continue on to the next book. Decent read. I’ve listened to another series by Annie with the same narrator. She’s ok. I’ve listened to much better. Her voice tends to remind me of a snarky, mean girl. It would easier listening if she softened her tone a bit. I do believe I may end up liking this series more than her witch series I just finished. Time will tell. On to the next book!

Great storyline and cannot wait to listen to next one. Loved the character build and relished immersing myself, Will definitely add this to my reading list, so I can enjoy the story without the nasal whine of the narrators voice. There is a pitch/squark at the end of the word that just feels like finger nails on chalk. The accent was fine, but her voice seemed flawed, like she needs to undergo speech training- or a voice coach.

I thought the strong was original. The plot was pretty easy and I knew what was going to happen, but still enjoyable. The FMC was pretty unlikable far too snarky or maybe that was just how the narration felt. She had no flow to her emotions, just snarky and angry with a touch of sadness. Her friends/family balanced her out and made the story interesting. I will read/listen to the next one. I do hate cliffhangers but this one wasn’t too bad.
