About this audiobook
No one taller than the stone.
Come to blacktree, come alone.
Tell no adult what’s been said,
Lest the lightning strike you dead.
Follow the Kingkiller Chronicle’s most charming fae as he schemes his way through the small town of Newarre. While Bast cares nothing for the laws of man, he is beholden to older, deeper laws. And despite his cleverness and care, Bast finds himself forced to choose between betraying his master and helping
a hated enemy.
Playful, sweet, and sly as Bast himself, The Narrow Road Between Desires explores a previously unseen part of Temerant, and shows a side of Bast we’ve only glimpsed before. Learn more about Bast as he goes against his better judgment and follows his heart’s desire. For after all, what good is wisdom if it keeps
you from finding your way to danger and delight?
Patrick Rothfuss
Patrick Rothfuss was born in Wisconsin where long winters and lack of cable television brought about a love of reading and writing. His mother read to him as a child, and his father taught him to build things. If you are looking for the roots of his storytelling, look there. He still lives in central Wisconsin, still lacks cable television, teaches at the college he grew to love as a student and the long winters force him to stay inside and write.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love this world & the characters in it. I got wonderfully lost & caught up in the King Killers series and was thrilled to be able to see a bit more of the world. I realize there were some hateful reviews of the author's note. I liked it. I thought it was sweet & because it's the Authors note, I found it fine to have him give a glimpse into his life. All author's notes don't have to expand or expound on the storyline. But that is just my opinion.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I was going to 2 star this but then Pat wrote his post script authors notes. A little bit insulting that he thinks the readers do not understand his writing troubles as another author and the rest was pretty much dribble. Glad he loves and adores his children though.
This is an adult male fairy short story and definitely something to be edited from a full novel. Deceitful, questionable morality, of a Character named Bast living in a world not of his own. Too bad there wasn’t more depth involved than just the child like nature. A nice mix of an adult cognitive and childlike mind inner workings but Bast isn’t necessarily protective.
Not one of Pats ScoobyDoo storylines. More like weird Thriller Michael Jackson waiting around a park for kids willing to make secretive decisions. Pat isn’t doing quality work towards his final work in the trilogy. He fails to understand that he will find clarity in writing after he releases that novel and subsequently other work might still be read. He’s just building animosity with fans of his first two novels.1 person found this helpful
