Abercrombie has set the bar so high that this book is the weakest of the spinoffs of The First Law. (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

What can I say about this book... I found it to be the weakest of all Abercrombie's works. The book isn't bad, but after the previous ones, it significantly lowers the tone. Also, I think that western tone doesn't quite fit this type of book; that's my opinion. I think I would give it a 7.5. (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

It's not as good as other works by Joe Abercrombie, but it has some touches of the master, the stark action, the cynical and amoral characters, and an interesting mix between western and fantasy. Overall, it is enjoyable to read. (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Of all the novels in The First Law series written up to this point, Red Country is, in my opinion, the weakest of all. We could classify it as a mix of adventure novel and western (which I would divide into two parts referenced by two movies, the conquest of the West and the legend of the nameless city).
The part about crossing the desert becomes quite slow even if we take the excuse of getting to know the new characters. The good thing is closing some stories that came from the original trilogy, seeing other "mythical" characters, and watching how the world of The First Law advances toward a pre-industrial era.
