About this audiobook

He's everything I want but run away from.

There's a long list of things I don't handle well: Change. Relationships. Breakups.

But there's one person above everything else I can't seem to get a handle on. Brody Wallace.

In short, he's perfect. The reality, he scares me. He's the opposite of what I usually go for. He's bigger. Intimidating. He reminds me of someone I'd rather forget.

When I need to find a new place to live, Brody offers me his spare room, but I have no plans on taking him up on the offer. He doesn't know what happened to me five years ago, and I want to keep it that way. But with limited options, I find myself outside his apartment holding a full moving box and wondering: How can I do this without exposing the darkest part of my past?

Contains mature themes.

This was wonderful. I really loved the book. Even though it tackled some really heavy themes that were heart breaking, it was funny and heart-warming at the same time. I felt really close to the characters. To me they were relatable. I got terribly mad at one point, because I had to stop listening to go to bed, but other than that it was pure bliss ;) Would definitely recommend.

The first book about Law and Reid was ok so I figured this one might be too. Mistaken.
This highly disappointing book is written about trauma and PTSD by someone with clearly no clinical understanding of PTSD beyond a cursory Google search, and it made the plot preposterous. Highlight was the MC’s psychologist recommending he visit his unrepentant and highly abusive ex-partner (who tried to murder him) in prison for “closure.”
Second problem to emerge is legal issues with zero understanding of the law (in any country) or professionalism and the very real possibility of being disbarred for activities like breaking confidentiality. Repeatedly. And admitting it to all and sundry.
Finally, the MCs are unbelievable, their recurrent internal monologues are boring, and the book goes on forever. Secondary characters like Brody’s dad and Rachel are inconsistently written with shifting personality and motivation.
Just… don’t bother with this one. This author has some great books, but this isn’t one of them.
    Audiobook narration is good.
