Jack Morgan is on a mission to make the world a better place. On his trip to South American he encounters a being that will change his life and who will have her life changed, too. A Billionaire meets his guardian angel in the jungle and love blooms. This is a delightful fun romp in short story format that will leave you feeling happy with a smile on your face at the end of the read. Implausible but definitely a fun read.

Midwinter Magic is the next book behind Charmed.Sarah Phimm is Jack Morgan’s Guardian Angel since the day he is born. She has watched over him from the time he started breathing until now. Now, everything changed since Jack Morgan can see her.I found this book to be weird. I just couldn’t get over how Sarah fell in love with someone she has known his whole life. She was placed as his guardian angel, with one mission to protect Jack. So, how did it go from that to falling in love with him? I dunno, it would be like a mother falling in love with a son, you get my drift? However, the story was good, once you get halfway into it. This book wasn’t like Charmed, other than Sarah is from Nether-Netherland. There was lot of view from the writer’s perspective. In my opinion, maybe if we could have been on the level between the characters, it would have been a different feel. Some of the book, I felt like I was watching the characters instead of knowing their thoughts, and the depth of their being.I loved the end of the book, it was very catching. If you love reading about angels you should totally give this a shot. The ending is creative.Overall, I did enjoy it, and I did finish it. Of course, I will read more by Erica Ridley!

“I am yours… It’s both as dramatic and as simple as that.” – Jack MorganThey say, once you go Jack, you never go back. Or was it something else? Hmmm, not sure, but I still have to say: I’D GO JACK ANY DAY OF THE WEEK! And no, I’m not talking about the whiskey…Jack Morgan is on his way to make sure that the people of a Bolivian village can have their Christmas on time despite their third-world lives, when he stumbles upon a wall of… feathers! Before he knows it, Sarah Phimm is tossed into his life and mission – and he’s sure he wants her right where she is. But Sarah has a secret of her own. She is his guardian angel, and being seen by her human client is NOT allowed. Nor is wanting him in a very unangelic way what a respectable guardian angel should be doing. Problem is, this little taste of imperfection has her not sure of what is right anymore. Now, Jack and his angel must rush to save Christmas for those who need them the most – and savor what little of time they have left before Sarah is called back to Nether-Netherland to get fired. While Midwinter Magic may not look like much at first glance, it is certainly something not to be missed. A certain delight to read during the holidays, I tell you. Jack and Sarah were an adorable and very funny couple. He was hilarious where she was sarcastic, and she was sweet where he was loving. If there was one thing to describe this couple, it would be “Divine”.Jack was a great main hero. One of the few billionaires I didn’t hate on sight. It had nothing to do with his charity work, and everything to do with his witty humor and childish nature. Though he could have been more understanding of Sarah’s position – still, this just proves how much of a human he is, flawed and yet perfect in his own imperfect way.Sarah, on the other hand, was the epitome of “poor angel, I so pity you right now”. Her human client is one risky idiot, alright, and she ends up breaking each and every rule to make sure he stays safe and happy. Despite her prim and proper attitude, she was a real fireckracker, and she kept up with Jack no matter the pace. As her human observed, she was playful and caring, and the one who truly needed Christmas the most. It was nice to see her evolve from the spectator to the woman she became through her love for Jack. This would have been a perfect book if not for a slight, minor problem. While I understand that it’s impossible to drag scenes on when it comes to romance in literature, I still wasn’t satisfied with the way Jack accepted Sarah so easily as a part of his life. I mean, you don’t have to drag the first meeting on, but a little more pushing away or suspicion towards the motives of this beautiful stranger coming out of nowhere with all the solutions to your problems and willing to spend her time “fixing roofs” with you is, I believe, in order. Just saying…All in all, this was a nice quick read, perfect to spread the holiday spirit. I’m certainly anxious to see what will happen afterwards, especially now that Sarah’s suggestion for changes is taken so seriously! And if having a few cameo appearances of angel-Jack isn’t enough of a motive, I don’t know what else can be…“I love you! I’m sorry I didn’t say it fast enough before. I felt it, though. From the beginning. I’ve always, always loved you.” – Sarah Phimm***I was given a review copy from a LibraryThing Member Giveaway in exchange for an honest review. MIDWINTER MAGIC is a romance novel, which is not normally my kind of read. Like her other books I read the characters are similar and the sex scene is pretty much the same as her other books, overly detailed and her standard formula from what I have read. The story has its charm, despite some crude language and the plot is well written, on the storyline alone this book saves itself from being cliché and just another romance story. Again it is a book that I would not recommend for any level but adult and will not have in my library since I share my books with multiple ages of readers.

This was my first Erica Ridley novel and I enjoyed it. I liked her writing style and thought this story was a perfect Christmas read. For the most part, the story was fun and light-hearted. Guardian angel falls in love with the human she's protecting and I think everyone likes a "true love conquers all" story. The part I enjoyed most, however, was helping make Christmas special for kids in a remote village in Bolivia--it really captured the true spirit of the season for me. Overall, it was a feel-good read and I look forward to reading more by this author.

Midwinter Magic is a fitting read for this time of year. It centers around one man's quest to right his wrongs by bringing Christmas cheer to the remote villages of Bolivia. The appearance of his guardian angel throws a wrench into those plans, though.Sarah Phimm (I'm still not sure if this tacky or clever) has been a guardian angel for a thousand years, but there's something special about Jack. Whenever she's forced to reveal herself to him, things change forever for both Jack and Sarah. This was a quick and easy read. It's missing the usual Christmas staples such as snow, family, and holiday cheer. But Ridley is able to make the themes of the season blend well into this novel set in South America. It's a heartwarming story. If you need to get in the holiday spirit and need a push towards helping others, this would be a good evening read for you.**I was gifted this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
