Description
Chapter 21: Collins is....still at Longbourn. Jane gets a foreboding letter from Netherfield. Topics include "warm peppermint liquid" ASMR, heartbreak, codependency, the introduction of Georgie Darcy (!?!?!?!?), multiple Luke Skywalkers, everyone marrying their cousins, and Bingliana.
Chapter 22: Dinner with the Lucases. Charlotte occupies Collins' time with conversation, leading to the biggest plot twist of all time. PROPOSAL NUMBER TWO! Topics include the economics of dating in the Jane Austen universe (surprise), Santa daddy, entailment, Charlotte fucks, fanfic of Collins and Mary as beards, Charlotte as the heiress of Longbourn, Lizzy's suitors, and pouring one out on Becca's floor.
Chapter 23: The formal announcement of Collins and Charlotte's marriage. Topics include Lady Lucas's comeback, self love, the business of lovemaking, Mrs. Bennet's rapid disintegration, and Molly's crush on Daddy Bennet (what else is new?).
And that's the end of Volume the First! Note: not all copies of this book are broken into volumes, so don't worry if yours isn't!
Study questions: Topics include Bingley's betrayal, Collins's approach to his second proposal, Charlotte's decision, the single men in possession of good fortunes who are in want of wives, too many characters, vanity vs. pride.
What's next? Wickham meeting the parents? Will the story leave Longbourn? Do we get to see Baby DB and Darcy together? We try to lay out the web of love.
Funniest quote: "Lady Lucas began directly to calculate with more interest than the matter had every excited before, how many years longer Mr. Bennet was likely to live.
Questions moving forward? How, what, when, where, why?
Who wins the chapters?: ....no...one? Mr. Bennet wins by process of elimination.
Glossary of Terms and Phrases:
Bewail (v): express great regret, disappointment, or bitterness over something, like your daughter's suitor leaving and never coming back.
