- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Mentioned the 5 step process over and over but didn’t state what it was until half way though the book. The author used too many key terms/phrases so it was too many definitions and too much to keep track of. Do not recommend.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I don't know about others, but I absolutely don't like books which seem to never get to the subject. It was only in the second part they finally said something about the actual subject, and it wasn't good explained at all. Very dissatisfied with this book, I would not recomend.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Yikes! Had to stop because there was nothing of value in the first half of the book. I lost track of how many times she said "by using these 5 methods" and not once saying what the methods are. If I was recommending books to someone in need of mental support, this would not be among the titles listed.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I feel like there’s some good info here, but I did not enjoy the audio version. It didn’t keep my interest. I am tempted to read the book to see if it changes my perspective, but I would probably skip to Part 2 to get the info I’m interested in.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Really helpful tips. Sometimes the terminology becomes heavy and confusing (neuro cycle, metacog, etc.), reference to other books by the same author irritate, but the main ideas of the book - especially "the mind is not your brain" are very helpful.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was super insightful! The connection between how our minds work and biblical truth of the Bible. It makes sense to why we should renew our minds daily!!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5i heavily disliked this book. it seems like 80% of this book is just testimonials and reviews of an app or something instead of actually explaining what the 5 steps are ?
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I found the second half of the book more interesting then the first part how was based on scientific data.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Absolutely Awesome,
This puts stuff into perspective in a understandable way.
There are scientific terms but Caroline breaks it down into something you would understand at the braai.
Thank you Caroline. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loved it in fact it’s very good that I’m going to listen to it again Thank you Dr leaf
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Dr Carolyn Leaf is a great individual whom has discovered the great potential of the mind her books are a great gift to those who struggle every day with many traumas and emotional conditions. Dr Leaf is a Neuro scientist that have brought Science to realized that it is complete truth that God is Science God is the Father of Science and now Science is finally catching up with the Bible. I known Dr.Leaf for more than 32 years I knew it was something especial about her when I use to see her in TBN. That is why I can trust her research and her Faith. I see her is the Pioner of Neuro Plastisicity and also she has giving me the facts and the research of my investigation and observación trough 43 years which you will see in my book. Reverend Audrey Abraham.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I always approach self-help books with some hesitation given the fact that so many simply rehash material from previous works. Having set the bar relatively low, I found “Cleaning Up Your Mental Mess” interesting and even helpful. I’m sure the fact that I’ve never read any of Leaf’s previous works contributed to my generally positive experience. While I haven’t yet practiced her five-step process for dealing with toxic thinking and stress, her system appears to be rooted in common sense and bolstered by research. Speaking of which -- the book is heavy on dense scientific research and jargon. What’s more, the author is unnecessarily repetitive – especially in the first half of the book. But when all is said and done, I found many of the Leaf’s concepts enlightening.
