About this audiobook
""C.S. Lewis is the ideal persuader for the half-convinced, for the good man who would like to be a Christian but finds his intellect getting in the way."" — Anthony Burgess, New York Times Book Review
Our moral consciousness and moral judgements are proof to the human race that a moral being exists—God.
Mere Christianity explores the core beliefs of Christianity by providing an unequaled opportunity for believers and nonbelievers alike to hear a powerful, rational case for the Christian faith. A brilliant collection, Mere Christianity remains strikingly fresh for the modern reader and at the same time confirms C. S. Lewis’s reputation as one of the leading writer and thinkers of our age.
The book brings together Lewis’ legendary broadcast talks during World War II. Lewis discusses that everyone is curious about: right and wrong, human nature, morality, marriage, sins, forgiveness, faith, hope, generosity, and kindness.
C.S. Lewis
Clive Staples Lewis was born in 1898. Known as ""Jack"" by his friends, Lewis and his good friend J.R.R. Tolkien, the author of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, were part of a writer's club, The Inklings, who would meet at the local pub to discuss story ideas. Lewis's fascination with fairytales, myths, and ancient legends coupled with inspiration drawn from his childhood led him to write The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, one of the best-loved books of all time. Six further books in the immensely popular Chronicles of Narnia followed, and the final title, The Last Battle, received the Carnegie Award, one of the highest marks of excellence in children's literature.

This is essential. If you don’t understand this, you’ll never know yourself, your relationships with others, or why things are the way they are. It will reveal why some Christians may have bad temperaments, while a person with a good temperament has no reason to boast.
It will explain why it is futile to remain “unbothered” by all this religion nonsense. It will show why countless learned men were wrong about evolution—not the concept itself, but when and how it most likely works. It will also teach you how to love your neighbor—not by thinking they are a good person, but by loving them as you love someone you already deeply care for, even if you dislike them much of the time.
This book is not what you think it is—that I can promise you. I also promise this: if you grasp the principles it teaches and apply them to your life, you will become far brighter than you are now. Not just a better version of yourself in the future, but a transformed man or woman. If you are a wise person how you need not “wait for heaven” to begin.
So, what are we waiting for? There is much to learn, especially the realization of how little you’ve truly learned so far. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

I liked the book ? the narration was smooth and calm. The only thing preventing me from giving it a 5-star rating is some things I just didn't agree with. All in all, the book had much to glean from. I'd recommend for others to read and with a pinch of salt ? - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

A beginning of understanding Christianity. God gave C.S. Lewis understanding in a simple form, one with which encompasses our imaginations and brightens our view of biblical scripture. I do think he took Genesis 3:16 and 17 lightly concerning headship but that's for each individual to discover the truth. His last chapter sums up John 3:30 "He must increase and I must decrease." Given the context of that scripture, John the Baptist was contemplating his own views, desires, interests, and understanding of his position now that Christ had come into the world. We should all contemplate the divinity of Christ and our own understanding. "Lean not on your own understanding." This means in total, give Christ 100% attention and your own 0%. Take what His entire Word says in understanding that simple verse of John 3:30 and you'll discover how much the blind man in John 9 knew verses what the Pharisees grasped. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

The ideas/concepts were presented with great clarity, as was the reading. I have impaired hearing and at no point did I have any difficulty understanding what was said. Some significant ideas that Lewis held are now under dispute, for instance that the father in a family is always the ultimate authority. Nonetheless, the vast majority of the book is still timely, and Lewis had a real knack for explaining difficult concepts with exceptional simplicity. My personal understanding of Christianity does not always coincide with what he wrote, but we all have slightly different sets of beliefs, and the differences often inspired me to think. Highly recommended. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Apologetics at its best. Fine and clear, eye-opening, mind-blowing. In my humble opinion after the Bible! This is a MUST-READ FOR ALL BELIEVERS OF ANY FAITH!
