- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book, kept my attention. My only complaint is how whiney the main character got the last quarter of the book. Yes, I know, been thru horrible experience but I just can't stand the pitty party stuff. I can't read autobiographies about abuse/rape etc... I know we've all got reasons to be this way after trauma butt I don't need them to keep telling me why they act the they do, I get it. But the "all I wanna do is go home" thing then act like you don't wanna be there and be mad that everyone's happy you're home is so annoying. Yup I said it. I have a bad childhood too, not like these guys off course but enough I feel I can say it because you gotta stick it up and go on. Not all of us have a caring mom to comfort us and let us be brats and lie around moping. Most of us have no one and have to keep moving or we'll be homeless on the streets. Ok. Rant over.
Good book, I really liked it.1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I absolutely loved this book. It’s a story line I’ve never read before and it’s hard to find a story that isn’t at least a little bit like another book. It kept me wanting to read and I read strait through the book without putting it down. Loved loved loved it!!!!

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I want to like this book! But, in the audiobook, the narrator for Sara sounds almost robotic and it's hard not to think about it while listening!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This mad me cry, mad, sad and A LOT MORE EMOTIONS came out, I think every young lady should read or listen to this book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really liked this book. But one of the voices was computer-ish, just sounded like a robot. I had to speed up the play because it was super slow but once I did I could tolerate it. But the book was good suspenseful.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I love Lucinda Berry. She always has well-developed characters and fast-paced storylines. Appetite for Innocence was a great read about teenage girls recovering from being abducted by a serial rapist/killer. The story has two timelines: past and present. It was compared to Butterfly Garden and The Girl Before. I see the similarities, but both of those books were 5 star reads for me. I think they had better character development. I listened to the audiobook of Appetite for Innocence and it may have dropped it to a 4 star for me. The narrator for Sarah is awful. Very robotic. I definitely recommend reading this one.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Liked not able to guess what happens next. Different personalities added depth to storyline. The narration voices are abrasive and whiny but story kept me engaged. Recommend
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This audiobook made me cry a few times throughout the narration. It's very sad, dark and gives you a realistic view through the eyes two survivors. You keep questioning their motives but at the same time try to understand why they act the way they do. 10/10
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Another brilliant read from Lucinda Berry. This book is intense, suspenseful, and well written. Excellent character development. Readers this book could difficult if anyone has any past trauma.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What can I say? This author never disappoints. Her books are so raw Nd uncensored. Reading this book I went through so many emotions (mostly anger). I couldn't stop reading/listening.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really want to give this book 5 stars but the voice for Sarah is horrible she sounds like a robot is reading..other than that good book
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Appetite for innocence by Lucinda Berry is a deep and traumatic story! Definitely trigger warning on child abuse, kidnapping and self-harm.
It's mad when I just imagine that people like this exist!
The great part of the story is how it feels after the traumatic events and not just for the victim but for all the people around!
