About this audiobook

An ITW Thriller Award finalist.

She’s a friendly voice on the phone. But can you trust her?

The people who call End of the Line need hope. They need reassurance that life is worth living. But some are unlucky enough to get through to Laura. Laura doesn’t want them to hope. She wants them to die.

Laura hasn’t had it easy: she’s survived sickness and a difficult marriage only to find herself heading for forty, unsettled and angry. She doesn’t love talking to people worse off than she is. She craves it.

But now someone’s on to her—Ryan, whose world falls apart when his pregnant wife ends her life, hand in hand with a stranger. Who was this man, and why did they choose to die together?

The sinister truth is within Ryan’s grasp, but he has no idea of the desperate lengths Laura will go to…

Because the best thing about being a Good Samaritan is that you can get away with murder.

Outstanding writing and phenomenal book! The storyline is incredibly captivating and put together brilliantly while remaining complex and thought provoking. I am thrilled to have come across this book - FINALLY an author who captures the psychological thriller genre in a way that is real, authentic and kept me wanting more. I can’t say enough about this book!

I've never hated the protagonist of a story more in my life. I kept imagining ways to kill her. She made me so mad I wanted to spit fire, but I really enjoyed the book. John Marrs is amazing. He is so creative and clever. I really love all of his stories. This made me mad and sad and gave me all the feels, but it was well worth reading. What a ride!

A good listen. I don't think I have ever despised a main character more. Laura is one of a kind.

Interesting plot, easy to follow. Nicely written, with not too many repetitions.

Not a fan. Too graphic and very depressing. Only reason I kept listening was because I wanted to see the main character pay!

It's a bit far-fetched. But honestly speaking, this author really knows about psychotic women! Pretty scary.

Awful. I loved some of his other books but hated this one. No likeable characters, badly written, dragged. I don’t know why i didn’t abandon it long before the end but hoped it would get better. It didn’t. Do not recommend

Amazing, unlike any other book I’ve come across. I’m so glad I just found this author, I have now went through 4 in a row in rapid succession. This one was so eerily addictive, you just did not know what was coming next right up until the very end. Now on the hunt for my next one ?

Lots of twists and turns! Starts off misleadingly slow, but builds up to a frenzied pace.

Not as good as Maars' "What Lies Between Us". Certainly an original story with plenty of twists and turns. I didn't really like the male narrators.

Took me awhile to get into as i felt it was a bit long winded. I still recommend a listen. And I do really hope Laura gets what’s coming to her-she’s awful.

Can't deny it's a good thriller, and an original story, although at first it was quite depressing. Then the story took a turn where you became intrigued! but just when you thought things would take a turn, you get slapped in the face! I lost count of how many times it happened. It almost feels like the author had a soft spot for the villian (or villaness). Seriously, there were times were you cant understand how those involved let it get so far! to the point where it's almost far fetched.
