About this audiobook

Merci Lanard made peace with her past and is ready for a simple future of murders and larceny while protecting the heart of her city. The Truth has other plans.

When her boyfriend gets a distressed call from his old pack in Scotland, she cashes in her vacation days to help Rafe pick up the pieces of a life he left behind 18 years ago. A life that included a pack and a hot ex-girlfriend.

Instead of roving the bonnie hills, she is uncovering mangled bodies entwined with the Shifter politics. As they fight their way into the pack's good graces, Merci gets to see the powerful Primo Rafe used to be and doubts her place in his life.

As they work together to unearth the painful past of the pack, she finds the truth about monsters, the truth about buried secrets, and the truth about the light that true love brings.

Editor's Note

Shifter Romance and Mystery...

Arista’s “Merci Lanard” series takes Merci to Scotland with her shifter boyfriend, where suddenly there are pack-related crimes. Merci has to solve them, as well as navigate life with her very different partner. This series is equal parts shifter romance and murder mystery, there the resolution to both plotlines is equally satisfying..

Hideous narration. Speeding up got me to the end. Tks to whomever put that tip up here.

The story is good, the narration is tedious to listen to. I wasn’t 100 percent happy with the narrator from the first 2 books, but after this, she was amazing. She’s so breathy and her inflections are out of control. Why you would switch to a different narrator for the third book is beyond me. At least find one that sounds similar. And the Scottish accents are trash and why does everyone have an accent suddenly? I’m not talking about the people in Scotland, but Emily and Piper suddenly have accents that I do not recall from the first two. Just a bit of consistency would have been a good idea.

Loved this series and wished for a couple more books. Great story lines, excellent narration, loved the way it was written. Will look for more books by this author.

The narrator. I wish that series would not change narrator in a series. I enjoyed book 2 but the breathy little girl narration of book 3 was awful. I did not get very far into the book before I gave up.

Great 3rd story terrible Scottish accent it really offended me being Scottish myself and changing the narrator wasn't great ?

It was really pretty decent, good story arch and fun characters. Chief complaint is the time spent with focus on main characters relationship and not the mystery or dynamic of the other characters.

The first two books have the same narrator but the last doesn't so it threw me off a little bit because the accents were different. Otherwise I really enjoyed it

I wish they hadn't changed the narrator. Really makes it hard to keep wanting to listen to it. Especially since I'm listening to them back to back...

It was a good storyline to end the series. But I don't think it was written as well as the first two.

The book was good, the narrator read every sentence like a newspaper headline which was hard to listen to. It did get better near the end of the book.

I loved the books! The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was the change in narrators. What the hell! Why would you switch it up on the last book to such a boring, mono tone voice.

Disappointed in the narrator change. Overall the books are good but this narrator is hard to listen to when doing the Scottish accent.

I give the book a 5 but the change of narrator a 2. I hate when the do that.

The change in narrator was hard at first...by chapter 5 I was used to it. Overall a good series to listen to.

The narrator for this book was horrible. I could only tolerate 10 minutes before I had to stop. The change was an unpleasant surprise, like some of the lies Merci described in The Truth About Blood.

I guess I’ll be reading this book instead of listening.

Could only get through the first 5 minutes. The narrator has the WORST voice I've ever heard. Who even approved this?! The first two books were great, I'll have to read this one on my own though. This narrator seriously needs a different job. Ick.
