About this audiobook

It's the Fourth of July, Mirabel's favorite holiday in the whole world, and it's completely ruined. Fireworks have been banned in town, there's family tension simmering as her favorite cousin and his boyfriend are home to visit, and – worst of all – Mirabel's dreamy boyfriend Jarrod has just dumped her ass and accused her of being secretly in love with someone else. And that someone else is Cassie Kasden, a popular, athletic girl that, okay, fine, Mirabel will admit, she's a little fascinated by. And who mysteriously seems to want to spend the day helping Mirabel get Jarrod back. Will Mirabel be able to sort through her feelings and figure out the truth before the first illicit sparkler is lit? Or is this Fourth of July really going to turn out to be a dud?

What happened in this story seems to be fitting on a novel more than a short one.
There’s too many complicated feelings and events, that all of it happening while figuring it all out in just one day seems a bit of a reach. I like the MC, but if this is a novel, she could’ve been more fleshed out, and her story would be more justified.

I liked it, it was fun and (very) relatable. Also, I'm not from the USA, so it was interesting to learn more from the celebration of the 4th of july.
It was light, fun and short. It's always nice to find some lgbt+ related stories :) <3
