Description
In 1957, at a time when the term sustainability was relatively unknown, Bridgestone’s Bandag business began pioneering the concept of retreading tires. Since then, its efforts to extend tire life have kept 300 million tires out of the waste stream. In 2021 alone, Bandag’s retreading of 6 million tires saved 4.8 Billion kWh in new tire production, which is enough energy to power over 160 million homes. Our host Keith Cawley sits down with two of Bridgestone’s retread leaders – Jason Roanhouse, Executive Director of Bandag Operations, and Christine Reagan, the Commercial Retread Solutions Lead on Bridgestone’s Extended Mobility Team– to better understand how retreading is not only reducing costs for Bandag customers, but is also a driving force in Bridgestone’s transformation to a sustainable solutions company.
