Description
Wow! Can you believe it's been 50 episodes?
We just want to take this time to thank you all for your support, and you can rest assured that we are just getting started.
Today's guest is someone who did a fantastic job at reminding us just exactly how challenging these issues can be, Sally Aponte.
Sally Aponte is a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner whose mission is to empower people who suffer from persistent gut symptoms with the right tools and healthy life-style choices so they can live a disease-free life and enjoy life to the fullest even in their senior years.
Prior to becoming a FDN-P she worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant for 29 years. Attending to the needs of her chronically ill patients was always a constant reminder that living an unhealthy lifestyle will contribute to disease and disabilities that can result in having a poor quality of life down the line.
She believes catching a potential disease at its earliest stages is another important factor for maintaining health and well-being. During her earlier years she struggled with multiple health problems and was misdiagnosed for 9 years before discovering she had Celiac Disease. The years of being misdiagnosed came at a price but it was the application of functional medicine that helped her reach a level of health that was not attainable through traditional medicine.
As a result, she developed a passion for healing the body through alternative means. This led her to pursue a career as a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Health Coach, and she continues to further her education in the field.
