Description
In this episode we bring Dr. Bill Campbell, The Physique Scientist, back on the show to dive into 3 specific research studies!
Study 1 covers whether or not rotating your training variables (tempo, sets, reps, exercise selection, etc...) negatively impacts muscle growth results. Study 2 covers weight loss plateaus and challenges the question that metabolic adaptation is what's actually holding someone back from losing weight. And finally, study 3 dives into sleep deprivation and is the first study of its kind, showing that lacking sleep can specifically increase body fat storage in the abdominal area.

⌚TIMESTAMPS:
(9:00) - TLA Giveaways
(13:45) - What can a new lifter do to maximize the potential of their "newbie gains"?
(18:30) - How to know if it's time I take a diet break?
(24:55) - Which is more important for muscle gains with minimal fat gains. Eating in a surplus on training days, on non training days Or both?
(31:00) - I currently have an in person coach that I’ve been working with for the last 4 months. He’s fairly controlling and isn’t very empathetic. If he sees me training or doing anything outside of the split that he’s programmed for me, he becomes confrontational and it’s been really hard for me to navigate as a people pleaser. We’ve had discussions about it but it ultimately leads to him blaming me and me apologizing even though I’ve done nothing wrong. I’m not sure how to get out of this dysfunctional relationship and move on as I would still have to see him daily if I worked with someone else. I need an in person coach right now for more accountability. Any advice on when to move on from a coach that no longer meets your needs and how to end this? I feel suffocated.
