Today on the Daru Strong Podcast we welcome Laura Phelps. At age 23, Larua started lifting weights at a local Powerhouse gym which led into bodybuilding, where she competed in three shows. Larua then started traveling to train with veteran powerlifters in Detroit and at Westside Barbell and properly trained for a sanctioned full power meet. In her first meet she squatted 551, bench pressed 303, and deadlifted 440. Three months later, Phelps competed in one of the largest competitions in the world and broke the All-Time Squat World Record by 66 pounds (683 pounds), and the All-Time Total World Record.
