Description

The transfer portal re-opens this Saturday, allowing college football players to explore opportunities elsewhere for the second time this year. The transfer portal is open during two two week periods throughout the season: one at the conclusion of the season in the winter time and one from mid through late April. LSU football head coach Brian Kelly spoke with the media following a spring practice this week and spoke on his approach to continuing to build his team and the roster during the spring transfer portal period. Which position groups could use added depth through the transfer portal going into this season?
Plus, LSU baseball started off their three game series against Kentucky Thursday night and run-ruled the Cats with a 16-6 final score through eight innings. In that LSU Friday night starter Paul Skenes became the first pitcher in college baseball to record 100 strikeouts on the season. However, it wasn't all good for the purple and gold in Game 1 against Kentucky; infielder and leadoff hitter Gavin Dugas went down with what is presumed to be a separated shoulder. While LSU has the defensive depth to fill Dugas' role while he rehabs his shoulder, LSU will have to make do without a reliable veteran with ten home runs on the season so far.
