LSU football was back out on the practice field on Tuesday after over a week off from spring practice. Head coach Brian Kelly highlights the injuries plaguing this team, revealing nine of their starters in 2023 have not been available for spring ball as they recover from nagging injuries or surgeries. However, the outlook is good for the Tigers. Eight of the nine injured players expect to be back in the next few weeks and the ninth, Armoni Goodwin, should be back in time for training camp in the summer.
But even with injuries, LSU football is on a much better trajectory this offseason than the one with which they started in Kelly's first year. When Kelly came in, he had to change the culture of LSU football. That included expectations at practice, how they approach off the field conditioning, nutrition, and so many other factors that create a championship college football culture. After even just one year, Kelly shares that it already has paid off.
