ESPN college football writer Bill Connelly released last week a college football ranking based off of the percentage of production from 2022 returning this upcoming season. However, that ranking lacked context of incoming recruiting classes, transfer portal talent, and success from the last few seasons. In the former ranking, LSU football ranked 32nd in the country. But in Connelly's most recent ranking which does consider recruiting classes and recent success, LSU ranks 7th in the country. Even with LSU being ranked a top ten team with these analytics, LSU is still the 4th ranked team in the SEC behind Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. But what does LSU have that those three teams don't going into 2023?
