Description

Sandi McKenna is a powerhouse and has an amazing story to tell, up through her travels on her travel show - MidLife Road Trip to becoming a Private Investigator during the pandemic. Now she has added podcast host and is launching "Unforgettable Conversations" this week.Sandi and I talk about her journey and then we get down to how conversation has become a lost art and how to go about rediscovering that ability and how important it really is.Some of the things we talk about include:1.  You have to nurture a natural curiosity throughout life.2.  If you have fear of traveling, you have to let FOMO help you push past those fears3.  Traveling to an actual place far outweighs seeing it in a magazine or on screen.4.  When traveling, take the ON-Off bus in order to get a great travel impact. It’s like a sampler platter.5.  Work hard to be a good listener. It will change every interaction.6.  In order to build the art of conversations in our children, we need to implement the dinner table interactions. Use the time to tell relatable stories.7. When engaging in conversation, find a common thread. There is usually always one there.8. Not only do you learn about others in conversation, you learn a lot about yourself.9. Don’t ever limit yourself.10. You can’t expect perfection of yourself or of anyone else around you.The link to Sandi's podcast on Apple is: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/unforgettable-conversations/id1591849562You can find her on Instagram at: http://www.instagram.com/sandimckennaAs promised here are the other links I discussed:Link to my Private The New Old You Podcast Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/thenewoldyou/My website: https://llmcshane.comMy Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/lesleylmcshaneLink to my Imposter Syndrome Handout/Worksheet: https://www.subscribepage.com/10-ways-to-disrupt-imposter-syndromeLink to the Friday Night BeeerBlog on Apple: Come talk to me here:Find me on my Website:https://www.lesleylmcshane.comFREE: Midlife in Motion ROADMAP I want more details on the MIDLIFE IN MOTION program:I don't need details, I want IN in the MIDLIFE IN MOTION program:Schedule a Kickstarter Call to get your nutrition and fitness on track!Connect with me on Instagram:Get Redesigning Midlife Weekly Updates:Find your community at the private Redesigning Midlife Facebook Group:You Deserve It Notebook: Goal Tracker, Planner, ...

As a former competitive athlete, I understand the importance of consistency when working to reach goals in all areas, while also dealing with these transitions of life. I’ve watched many friends and family struggle, wondering why they can’t stay motivated to be active, eat intentionally, and follow through on commitments they have made to themselves. In my late 40s, I figured out how crucial it was for me to take control of my physical and mental health in order to handle all of the pressures that adult children, aging parents, looming retirement, and weight gain from menopause were throwing at me. You need accountability and a good time-management plan to set yourself up for the peace and harmony you desire.
