Before you get the wrong impression, this is not a call to some kind of rebellion. Quite the contrary as you'll read and hear.
But there comes a time when we've got to realize we are more powerful than we are.
Too often we hear so much victim stories, that we've almost accepted that as the status quo of life.
I see and hear about this a lot in the workplace. And there are many reasons why it continues.
Leaders who aren't skilled or insightful enough to intentionally shrink the divide between leadership and employee, end up losing their best talents and having mediocre productivity and performance.
Emotelligent or effective leaders create healthy environments to offset these losses but they do so with a partnership approach..
When employees know that their leader is Emotelligent or partnership focused, they will help them create healthy working environment.
They - the employees - will:
Share your ideas
Be a change agent
Speak up when you are hurt
Outline their boundaries
Ask for what you want /need
All of this is good for the overall health of the organization.
