Here are some tips to help you in your quest for #hosting effective #virtualtraining.

1. Utilize stable, proven technology
When you’re #hosting #virtualtraining, you need to ensure that you’re using a #secure, #program that allows you to clearly #communicate with the students, while including all the features you need. This is very important-- having a #connection problem partway through a class can entirely disrupt the flow of the teaching process. It’s important to also consider how easy the program is to use for your students. It may be easy for you, but that doesn’t matter if nobody can figure out how to join!

2. Be proactive; be #engaging
This tip may seem obvious, but what you might not know is how much harder it is to keep a class #engaged when it’s being done #virtually. The students aren’t physically in a classroom; they may have dressed up in comfy pyjamas and will start dozing any minute, or they may simply lose attention and be on their phones. You have to be ready for this and accommodate for it. Make your training very #interactive, keep the students #engaged and on their toes through active interaction with them, as well as activities that test the #knowledge of what they’ve learned so far. Encourage them to keep their webcam on, and keep yours on as well, as this will help them both be more attentive and more self-aware of their own actions.

3. Educate
We know you’re already teaching a class, but be sure to give details on the platform you will be using to host the #training. This can be done through an #email sent out to all the participants detailing the steps to join the #class, how to use some of the basic functions like #mute and #camera, and anything else they need to be successful in the #course. This goes for you, too; be sure you know the #platform you’re using, so you can utilize all of its features and know what to do in the event that something goes awry.
