Lauren Weinberg is the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Square, a payments platform aimed at small and medium businesses that allows them use their phone or tablet as a credit card reader. The brand's corporate company, Block, also owns Cash App, Spiral, TIDAL and TBD. Founded by Jack Dorsey and Jim McKelvey in 2009, Square's revenue is about $18 billion. Lauren joined Square over 5 years ago and has been CMO for about 4 years. Prior to Square, Lauren was at Nielsen, Comscore, Advertising.com, Viacom and Yahoo. Lauren is the co-author of the recent book, Self-Made Boss: Advice, Hacks, and Lessons from Small Business Owners. In this episode, Lauren goes through her journey from data and analytics to marketing.
