Description

At a family event in 2011, a photographer asked Bill Vogel - multiple times - to button his suit coat. He couldn't because he'd gained too much weight.  Bill says he was "totally embarrassed" in front of family and friends. That was the turning point. When he got home, he weighed himself: 297 pounds on a 6'6" frame. He vowed never to weigh that much again. He did his research, and found a plan to lose weight and that he could sustain: low carb, low sugar, low grains. In one year, he lost all 70 pounds and has kept the weight off since then. In 2016, he was diagnosed with Leukemia and Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. This is the story of not one but two extraordinary victories.Bill Vogel's websiteConnect with Dr. Ovadia:TwitteriFixHearts WebsiteStay Off My Operating Table WebsiteAmazon Theme Song : Rage AgainstWritten & Performed by Logan Gritton & Colin Gailey(c) 2016 Mercury Retro RecordingsProduced by 38atoms & Jack Heald

He was a morbidly obese heart surgeon. Through high school, college, med school and surgical training, he followed the U.S. dietary guidelines for both diet and exercise. Yet nothing he did could keep the weight off. Each day in the operating theater he would split open the chests of people just like himself. He was heading for the operating table and knew he had to find solutions that worked. In 2016, he finally found a way to lose 100 pounds and keep it off. Now - in addition to doing heart surgery - he helps people just like himself get healthy, lose the weight and keep it off. Dr. Philip Ovadia is now a rebel M.D. working to keep people OFF his operating table.
