Unexplained Mysteries of the Past. - Pat Dwyer

    UNEXPLAINED MYSTERIES OF THE PAST.

                                      BY PAT DWYER

Unsolved Mysteries can be fascinating.  They make great conversation topics and the discussions can be endless.  Not having absolute answers offers intrigue, different possibilities and a journey into the unknown.    What really happened?  No one seems to know for sure. While some mysteries are solved, others can linger on indefinitely.  Below are several prominent mysteries that just were never solved despite extensive efforts and time frames.  They include the 1947 UFO crash at Roswell; where in addition to a saucer crashing alien beings were actually seen.  Did such an event finally answer the question whether we are alone in the universe?  Also included is the Victoria Peak Treasure in which a large mysterious treasure was found inside a mountain.  How did such a massive treasure end up there and why were the contents so vast?  And the D.B. Cooper Skyjacking Mystery from 1971.  D.B.Cooper hijacked a plane, demanded a ransom and parachuted into infamy.  Who was he?  Why was he never apprehended or the money ever found?  This and more is discussed in this exciting and dynamic review.  If you like mysteries this book is a must read.  Pictures are included.

    Chapter 1.

A LIGHTNING STRIKE and a MIRACLE in Acton, Ohio.

Just exactly what is a miracle?  Definitions, interpretations and opinions can vary greatly.  There is no real consensus.  However, what happened near a stretch of highway in the sleepy small town of Acton, Ohio, on April, 20th, 1978 could be described as such.  It is quite a story and a story that does not seem to go away as the years go by.

Bob Davidson was a 28 year old volunteer fireman from Mansfield, Ohio. Travelling by motorcycle to visit a family member he was on the interstate passing through the small town of Acton. His Father had recently died and he was going through hard times.  That night an intense thunder storm was in progress and the rain was too much for him to handle. To make riding easier he exited the highway and put on raingear to deal with the heavy onslaught. Off the highway he stopped his bike.  As he was about to get off the bike he was stuck by a powerful bolt of lightning. The  magnitude of the lightning strike was so strong it knocked him to the ground, welded his watch together and thrust his boots off his feet. Bob was lying on the side of the road barely alive at the mercy of the elements.  The situation looked totally ominous.  Luckily, a passerby saw him and immediately summoned help.  An ambulance arrived minutes later and took one look at Bob and realized they had quite an arduous task ahead of

them.  He actually had steam rising from him from as a result of the heat
