..in Mrs Johnson's Psychedelic Gathering
, the first part of our story:
Mrs Johnson (known as J) and her family moved to Millington, Humbleshire in 1973 where she completed her schooling. She then moved to Londinium in 1979. Over the following years, J performed in a band, wrote, dabbled in in various forms of retail, read the Tarot, worked in an ironmongers and took in washing and ironing. She had a brief and unsuccessful marriage to a Jonas Johnson and they had one son named Speet. Many years later, J married her long term lover, Mr Hogle.
Christopher Anthony Rhodes (known as CA) grew up at Rooks Bend
in Mellingford, near to Millington. After losing his partner Julian in a tragic underground railway accident in 1981, CA became an international male escort. He retired in 2005 but stayed in contact with his favourite client, Gina Crow Shoe. Gina liked him to recite the poetry of Edgar Allen Poe to her whilst she bathed in asses’ milk.
Tdlz Gdlpz was born to a Polish father and a French mother and grew up at 3 Bath Place, Millington. After following her mother’s wishes to wear sensible clothes and train as a typist, Tdlz realised her future lay in the world of female wrestling. She accumulated great wealth over her career and retired to Millington Lodge, a former home of Barbara Cartland with her partner Glynnis Goldfellow.
Louisa Patricia Susan Margaret-Rose Cornwallis-West (known as Bog) was born in Calcutta. When she was very young, the family moved back to Mellingford, where she went to school with CA. The family then moved into 2 Bath Place, Millington next door to Tdlz in 1969. Some years later, Bog and her Romanian husband, Vladimir settled in Fartlebrook, Humbleshire. She worked as a flute teacher and costume designer and Vladimir as an astronomer and horse whisperer.
Diana Joyce Cartland (known as Joycie) moved to 1 Bath Place, Millington, next door to Bog and Tdlz in 1977. She remained in Millington after marrying Clinton Wort, owner of Flockworld
and ran a catering business. They went on to have 3 children, Sharon, Kevin and Chardonnay. Joycie was and always will be a very passionate woman.
Christopher Charles (known as CC) grew up on the Dorselshire-Humbleshire border and met his partner Kelvin McQuim at The Highland Games in 1977. After finishing university, they moved to the USA. During the Eighties, Nineties and early Noughties, CC worked for NASA. Nobody knows exactly what he did. After retiring, CC and Kelvin moved to Gussette-on Spey in Abercrombieshire.
The Six
formed at Brocklington Sixth Form College in 1977. Our story really began in the period leading up to CA’s 18th birthday party the following year. After a picnic at Westover Castle, The Six travelled over the water to The Green Island before assembling at Rooks Bend
for the party.
Early in 1979, J and CA were enjoying an afternoon together on Millington Market. J purchased a small clay tablet from the mysterious Mr Lovegrove. In Easter that year, The Six reunited at 2 Bath Place where they discovered that the tablet (known as The Double Six Magic Square) would allow them to travel across space and time. Their first journey took them to Shimla in India where they met some of Bog’s relatives and took tea at The Viceregal Lodge.
On Friday 24th December 2021, J was visited by the mysterious Mr Lovegrove. After the Nimbus Pandemic struck in 2020, she was down on her luck and was living in a small flat in Nutting Hill, Londinium next door to CA. Mr Lovegrove instructed J to gather The Six together for the first time in over 40 years on Friday 15th July the following year.
When everyone gathered at J’s flat on Friday 15th July 2022, it became apparent that their task was to save their world from destruction. J and CA had prepared a potion made from Ayahuasca for them all to share. As they nestled into their beanbags and drifted off into a parallel universe, they were greeted by Mr Lovegrove. Their task was to harness all the positive energies of the universe to destroy The Great White Wall.
After dreaming a new future for The Human Race, Mr Lovegrove warned The Six of the chaos and destruction that lay ahead. Mother Gaia had decreed that The Change must now happen. The Nimbus Pandemic had been her final warning. They were told that they all had to relocate to Millington Lodge no later than Monday 15th January 2024.
After the San Fransisco and Tokyo earthquakes in July 2023, stock markets crashed across the world (The Big Crash) and the Cumulo-Nimbus Pandemic started to bite hard.
The Six finally gathered at Millington Lodge on Monday 15th January 2024 shortly before The Great Six Day Storm and The Great Fire of 2025.
Our story continues the following day when CA chanced upon Mr Lovegrove whilst chatting to a friendly robin……
1. The Prologue
Friday 21st April 1500, The Western Atlantis Ocean, just off the coast of an unknown land
Once upon a time many thousands of moons ago, thirteen boats approached the coast of an unknown land. They were under the command of the great Portalian explorer, Ronaldo Luis de Melo.
After a solemn mass attended by the King Of Portalia in Lisbona, the fleet had left the mouth of the River Tagle early in March and some weeks later accidentally bumped into the coast of what is now known as Brazzlia. De Melo and his men sighted the hump of Mount Pastille and sailed north for three days before finding landfall near what is now Port Secure. A party went ashore on April 21st and the main landing was made the following day. De Melo formally claimed what he called The Holy Cross Islands for Portalia, also thinking they may be part of a new continent. The local indigenous Indianos population were still effectively living in The
