    Chapter 1

The year was 3018, and the evening was warm with a spray of misty rain, barely enough to give moisture to the plants and trees.

Slade O’Rourke, a handsome, lanky twenty-five-year old from the planet called Earthtoo, was now traveling in a secret spacecraft, along with three other prisoners, on course for Death Island, an island of no return. This particular island was known to all criminals as the final stages of their lives, and yet, Slade was only twenty-five years old. Why was he on this spacecraft, and what did he do wrong that his life was about to end when he should be enjoying it to the fullest?

The questionable island was located somewhere on the planet G-P657, a planet in the same solar system as Earthtoo, next door to Old Earth’s own solar system where only 244,000 earth people survived its cleansing.

The new planet Earthtoo had sheltered the original Earth people who were rescued and relocated. They were called the Chosen Ones, a group of 244,000 young and healthy child-bearing human beings, selected and given one last chance for their species to survive.

The choosing and gathering of all 244,000 people began to take place, starting in early 2015. Over the course of a few years, the selected Chosen Ones were transported to Earthtoo in their year of 2018, a planet they named after their original Earth. The planet’s name, Earthtoo, stood for Earth 2. Slade’s great-grandparents were one of the lucky chosen people; in fact, they were responsible for selecting some of Earthtoo’s people.

On G-P675 lies a secret island where certain prisoners, by orders from the special tribune’s council, are sent to meet their death—but only if they survive the trauma from other surviving prisoners, as the prisoners were still roaming free on the island. Some of the newer prisoners managed to survive the brutality of both the starvation and beatings through the first months; others were not so lucky, taking the easy way out by taking their own lives.

Some of the lucky ones who live out their remaining days while fighting for their survival until their death. After their deaths, the prisoners would bury their dead in an unmarked grave. During their survival years, there was always a leader in the group, and yet the leader always had to watch their backs, especially when a stronger prisoner would be dropped off on their island and a challenge would begin to remove the old leader. There was no way of escaping the island of horrors, and for this reason, the council of planet G-P657 called it Death Island of No Return.

Planet G-P657 was the reason why Earthtoo was kept under strict population control. This was to keep history from repeating itself like the Earth’s people destroying themselves.

Just past midnight, the spacecraft hovered silently over Death Island but closer to the ocean, three hundred feet high up from the island’s sandy beach. Inside the transport room were two humanoid guards with laser handguns trained on the prisoners’ chests. If they attempted to escape, the humanoids were ordered to kill them on the spot. On Death Island, a dead prisoner would become less of a burden to the remaining prisoners. This is according to the council’s handpicked security team, as they scanned and watched for any escape attempts from the island itself.

The spacecraft stayed in position without making a sound. The undercarriage of the spacecraft’s heavy doors quietly opened long enough to beam down two humanoid guards and four blindfolded prisoners chained together by their waist to prevent any struggle. The prisoners were quickly unchained and released, and the humanoids returned to the transport ship quietly.

When the prisoners realized their hands were finally free, they quickly fought to remove their blindfolds to get a better look at the mysterious vessel for markings. It was too late, as the transport ship had silently and quickly disappeared out of sight, somewhere into the midnight skies.

The prisoners tossed their blindfolds onto the sandy beach with anger in their hearts, all except for Slade. They stood around for a moment to allow their eyes to adjust and focus. Once everything cleared up, they looked around at the mysterious Death Island. The four surprised prisoners felt they were standing on the beach on their homeland.

Prisoners heard rumors, but no one knew which ship took away the prisoners. Only their imagination knew that Death Island was an island of brimstone and fire and that no one, up to that day, has escaped—at least, no one ever lived to talk about it.

For the men, nothing looked out of the ordinary, until Slade spotted what looked like a lone female figure walking toward the new prisoners.

The closer she got, the more the men could see her clearly. Looking at this strange five-foot-four woman, ogling her slender body, they gazed at her as if they have never seen a woman before. For them, it was not hard to miss her old, light-colored woven cloth made into a miniskirt, along with a wide band of the same material that covered her chest area, exposing her midriff and her bare shoulders. Her long, waist-length, black hair was tied back with a piece of the same cloth. She slowly moved closer to the group, dragging a thick, clublike branch from perhaps a fallen tree. She knew the men would be awestruck by her appearance. That was her plan all along—shock them into silence.

She stopped six feet in front of Slade, without so much as a glance at the other prisoners. The woman knew the other three would be standing with their tongues hanging out, just like puppies drooling at the sight of a curvy figure before them. But not Slade, and this piqued her interest. She looked like someone from the Stone Age that the prisoners once studied during their schooling years.

Slade stood tall, all six feet and two inches. And while notorious for being a bold fellow, he can somewhat be a gentleman at times. He decided to take on the leadership role of the group of prisoners. As he spoke, no one objected, but all watched and listened.

Hi, name’s Slade Liam O’Rourke, the fourth generation of the O’Rourke family from United America. May I ask what your name is and which country you came from? he questioned her, bowing slightly. Slade showed off his irresistible slight smirk, a look that no woman at the time could resist, guessing that she was no different. But Slade was wrong.

The woman with large, green, rounded eyes fixed on him for one full moment, studying the angles of his face for any signs of recognition. However, she saw none.

Um, guys, I think this lady here speaks no English! he chuckled.

    Eliza.

Slade quickly turned to face her with a shocked expression at hearing a pretty and womanly voice on Death Island.

Ahh, so she does speak, Slade chimed. Eliza—that is your name? Okay, so, Eliza, who is the island’s alpha dog? I’d like to meet him. Slade spread his arms out, indicating the whole island in question, chuckling some more and showing off to the other prisoners who all joined in on the fun.

    You’re looking at her.

This remark stopped the chuckling men dead in their tracks as they began to stare at her, looking up her and down for any weapons on her body for a full minute.

Unbelievable, whispered one of the prisoners.

Geez, woman, just how strong are you to survive this hellhole? commented Slade, serious. Slade stood with one hand on his hip, searching for any bruises or scars or signs of being in a fight. She had none that he could see.

It’s not about strength, it’s about patience, wit, and out smarting the people here.

Well, if that is the case, remind me to never cross you, Slade said sarcastically, bowing slightly again. Now take us to your real leader.

And before he could straighten himself up, he felt a sharp pain on the upper right side of his head, just above his right ear. Suddenly, everything turned a deep shade of gray as he felt himself drifting down a black tunnel toward the dark abyss.

Before he reached the bottom, he faintly heard her shrill voice, saying, Get them, followed by the sounds of running footsteps in the sand.

Slade hit the bottom of the black abyss, passing out without seeing who the other attackers were.

    ...

Many years earlier, as predicted in 2020, the planet called Earth had been hit by a major asteroid that reduced the planet’s population in half. And because they still didn’t better themselves, a second major asteroid came along—this time, causing a massive explosion—and Earth began breaking apart. Explosions of this magnitude were rare. This took place in the year of 2030.

The explosion left nothing in its wake as a reminder of their existence, not even droplets of water. Sometime after the dust settled, the only evidence that Earth even occupied the empty and desolated space were massive puddles of mixed gases and minerals that somehow survived the asteroid collisions. The bodies of oceans and polluted waters of every form had all evaporated by the extreme heat, during the Earth’s breakup, leaving nothing. Every piece of Earth’s land had disintegrated.

Two years later, as predicted, Earth’s entire solar system began to slowly collapse; and without any warning one day, it collapsed in itself. This collapse—or, in another term, folding—allowed room for other nearby galaxies and solar systems to eagerly expand outward, taking over the empty space. This was also known as the big bang or, by another name, supernova. All other galaxies and solar systems sent out their spacecraft to inherit some of the remaining gases and minerals from Earth’s explosion.

Soon, the leftover gases and minerals were sought and fought over by other local unidentified species, among other unknown intelligent life forms from Universe 2. A stop was ordered by the collective council of the universe—the Federation of Galaxies, also known as the FOG. Members of an older and elite group that formed thousands of years prior, the FOG also had more weapons of mass destruction. But one fateful day, the proof of their powers was challenged by an unknown race suddenly appearing in Universe 1.

The FOG was on to stop the harboring of gases and certain minerals needed for Universe 1. The confiscated materiel was to be divided equally in order to survive the next coming world cleansing or should another supernova event happen inside their own universe.

With these supplies will help build stronger spacecrafts to go beyond and locate other planets to investigate or help save people that might need their assistances.

If any of the four universes expanded larger than the other, the larger universes would assume more power and declare their universe to be the leader of all four universes. And in some cases, the expanded galaxies and solar systems would start wars of the universe to rule all leaders of any other universes.

The Hellfire UFOs unsuspectedly came from Universe 2, whose nickname was given by the younger generations of spacecraft flyers from Earthtoo in Universe 1. The Hellfires were famed for their speed and their maneuvering, along with their triple lasers of death that they used during their battles. Everyone feared them and broke away immediately to return to their stations, as ordered by their commanders.

The Hellfires had been on the FOG’s radar for some time, and once they learned of the Hellfire fleets’ strengths and weakness, they outfitted their own spacecrafts with more powerful lasers. The major drawback, however, was the Hellfire’s ships were bigger and faster, nothing like the council has seen before.

The gases and leftover minerals from exploded star systems would eventually disperse into other nearby galaxies or solar systems to be used for their own consumption. Once the empty space begins to fold in, so do the gases and minerals.

It was a known fact that a collapsed galaxy or solar system usually takes billions of Earth years to be completely dispersed into the darkness of hell. Majority of the closer galaxies knew that Earth galaxy was long overdue. The greed of Universe 2 would arise, and wars would begin, each destroying the other’s costly fleets and their latest technologies. It became a game of showing off their full power to try and control other warlords within Universe 1, a warning sign to back off. The Hellfire usually lay claim on every chaotic collapse, all for the reason of taking the newly released resources. It wasn’t that their very own rich world needed or had any uses for, but a full-blown and all-out war was what they were hoping for, to take over Universe 1. Why, what, or how using these type of resources was anyone else’s guess and known only to the Hellfires.

The massive destruction of Earth, along with her sun, planets, and numerous stars, had rocked all four universes; and the explosion acted like a beacon, giving away Earth’s exact location and disturbing the central godhead of the four universes, leading it to becoming angry.

From Universe 2, many aliens from other planets and galaxies have already breached Universe 1, understanding what the explosion meant. They were able to use their spacecrafts’ trail markers to pinpoint the exact location of the supernova event.

When the supernova was about to begin, the effects of the warning sounds echo and spread around like wildfire, encouraging scout ships to leave their home planet in search of plunder. All beings used their spacecrafts’ trail makers to trace and follow the pathway toward the latest supernova. There would be many other unrecognizable spacecraft keeping a sharp eye on the collapsing solar system, waiting for the right time to begin looting, starting numerous wars for the last scraps, and taking out the other factions and their expensive spacecraft.

One fateful day, however, two large and strange-looking triangle-shaped spacecraft breached Universe 1. Not one planet or FOG commissioner recognized where these unidentified spacecraft originated. The massive windowless spacecraft were all black, with silver and grey accents running along the sides of the spacecraft. The two arrived together a hundred miles apart from one another. In terms of length, the triangle-shaped spacecraft were four miles long, with colorful lights blinking in sequence, as if to say, "We are here and leave or else!"

At first sight, both spacecraft were spotted scouting near the supernova event. They could see there were other scouts in space pods investigating the debris. This strange spacecraft began to take out the local and smaller pods along with their spacecraft. They were reported back to their home planet of their behavior. Hellfire was their given name, and soon they were a feared group of fighters.

They were noted to use tractor beams, and sometimes they were spotted using an instrument on the front of their spacecraft. This pole-like instrument extended out by two miles. Tasting it is what the FOG team pinned this down to. These monsters did not impress the other scouts coming in for a closer look and try to communicate with them. The FOG learned their pole instruments were a special reading technology specifically built for testing the supernova’s debris for minerals and such.

The Hellfire’s unknown leader appeared on the FOG’s screen for all fifty of
