Super Spy. The Robert Hanssen Espionage Case. - Pat Dwyer

SUPER SPY.  THE ROBERT HANSSEN ESPIONAGE CASE.

(Espionage is a high stakes game and can be quite ‘’COMPLEX’’ involving many variables to make it function. However, one mistake can prove to be critical and the ‘’IDENTITY’’ of the elusive spy can be ‘’REVEALED.’’  When they are identified it can be someone no one suspected.)

    4

There are different levels of espionage and always have been.  Some spies who are daring or in need of immediate financial gains recklessly and brazenly commit such acts. Often, with a total disregard for the extreme criminal consequences. These spies usually  have limited access to certain types of classified material.  Their capabilities are hampered by compartmentalization or a need to know basis that intelligence agencies use to limit losses. Occasionally, a certain spy has what appears to be unlimited access to classified material.  This access combined with providing the data to an adversary can make espionage quite a highway of information transfer.  Very few individuals have achieved this status but the case of  FBI Agent Robert Hanssen, who turned spy, fits this criteria in every sense of the word.  He was just not another player when it came to espionage, he was the player, the ultimate spy, perhaps even a ‘’super ‘’spy.

(Catching spies is not always easy.  Some people can provide intelligence information for decades and not get caught.)
