$$$ Telecom Treasure Trove - Ricardo Jarvis

    Chapter 1

As I embark on this journey in describing one of the most profitable businesses I have been involved in, which doesn’t need much effort, small investment and can be easily managed remotely. Truly a well kept secret from the public at large I will seek to disclose.

I was first introduced to VOIP call termination business through a vey unexpected situation. About 12 years ago in 2012, I received an email in a Hotmail account from an unknown individual that he wanted to have a chat with me and that he had gotten my contact information off of an Internet Forum on technology and telecommunications I had posted on some years earlier.

Whilst I was first skeptical I replied to the email and gave him my contact number and a few minutes later I received a call from this stranger who said that he wanted to discuss a business with me in his email correspondence. He introduced himself as a Guyanese national based in Guyana by the name of Sugrim. He proceeded to discuss the business which he called VOIP GSM call termination and that it was very lucrative and he was willing to share revenues equally with me as he owned the equipment to get it going.

Sugrim went into further detailed that we could earn around total US$10,000 per week minus expenses and overhead costs. In addition besides having equipment he also had access to 4 Clients for the business based out of the USA, UK and Canada who had access to worldwide international calls coming into any country worldwide. I said I was interested but since I was in another country what would be needed from my end. I was told I needed to have a location that would need to have 1MB Wireless Broadband Internet with Static IP addresses at least 5. The reason for the Static IP addresses he explained was to ensure that the equipment which would be connected to the Internet via the Internet Service Provider Router will always be the same to ensure direct connectivity to the overseas Clients own telecoms equipment sending calls internationally to his equipment. The 5 Static IPs would each be rotated from time to time, with each time a new one placed in his equipment the overseas client would have to be notified to update in their own equipment sending the calls. For clarity the equipment used only 1 Static IP at a time with the 5 being for security rotational purposes.

As I was familiar with what his requirements were I told him that I would speak to one of my business clients who managed an Offshore Call Center locally to use their 1MB Wireless Broadband Internet with Static IP addresses however we would have to pay them from the revenue generated. Sugrim agreed and I called my business client who agreed to let us go ahead and also would receive US$2000 per month or US$500 per week for using their resources. I then called Sugrim and he decided to fly in a few days later with his equipment and again I notified my business client of his expected arrival.

Three days later I met and picked up Sugrim from the Airport where I met him face to face for the first time and then drove him to the business client location where he installed his equipment onto the Network utilizing one of their Static IP addresses and then further did some testing with a couple of his overseas Clients sending test calls from overseas out of the UK and US successfully. This all happened within a couple of hours after Sugrim’s arrival flight.

However for him to have been able to do test calls using Simms cards since his equipment was using GSM in the days before he flew in I had to setup and purchased from 2 different Telecommunications companies where I was located. His equipment could support up to 12 Simms cards receiving and making outgoing calls at the same time. This was not like today where
