31 Days to Getting Along with Others - Larry Winget
Day One
Relationships Come In All Shapes & Sizes
There are lots of kinds of relationships. Business relationships; social relationships; church relationships; casual acquaintances; friends; your spouse or significant other; your children; other family members; people you pass on the street, and more.
Relationships will come and go. They will change in intensity and frequency. Some will be good and some bad. Some will last a lifetime and some will only last a moment. That’s just the way life is. To expect it to be different is naive.
The key is to understand that every relationship is different, and you have to treat each one differently. You must act and react differently in each relationship. Look for the differences and enjoy them.
The most immutable barrier in nature is between one man’s thoughts and another’s.
—WILLIAM JAMES
Day Two
People Come in All Shapes & Sizes
People are like relationships; they are all different. That means that you must treat each one differently.
Some people are easy-going and will be a pleasure to know and be around. And some people are the kind that make the hair on the back of your neck stand up every time they open their mouth.
Understand that these differences are normal. Accept people for who they are. Appreciate the differences among individuals that make your relationship with them unique.
When two people always agree, one of them is no longer necessary.
