Chapter 1: Mindfulness – the point of feeling aware of what is happening within our body and mind in the present moment

Understanding Mindfulness
The term mindfulness refers to the state of staying fully centered in the present moment without being distracted by any of the inner commentary that one may be experiencing. It is about the love towards gesturing towards what we feel or see in general.
Real-Life Example:
In other words, consider eating your meal. Conscious eating is all about your full independence while savoring the taste, texture, and feel in every bite without being under distracted and rushed conditions.
Actionable Insight:
Go into the world of mindfulness by devoting as few minutes in your daily schedule as you need to. Feeling this just can be from meditation, conscious breathing or even by paying attention to daily things with a finer sensitivity level.
Even though our pace of life is getting faster and faster, all the loud noises we manage to drown out that inner voice that says we should also devote at least a moment of peace to ourselves during a typical day.
Handling stress and anxiety.
The truth is that we live in a global environment that is rapidly moving and rather disorderly. So, mindfulness technique is a method that will help us to cope with stress and anxiety. Being in the now, a positive outlook at life is being built while gradually shunning the negative thoughts. Consequently, the inner conflict is surmounted.

Being a professional who is submerged in work decides to incorporate some short mindfulness breaks during the day, which bring him into the present moment. They spare just 2-3 minutes every now and then to divert their attention from the work to their breath and what a refreshment it is for their split attention to work again; this time with all sharp focus.

Practice a simple mindfulness exercise: Try this simple meditation in an easy sequence. Start with your timer 5 minutes, sit down comfortably along with your eyes closed and pay attention to your breath. Note the sensation of the inhalation and exhalation happening while you subtly influence the way your mind goes back each time it wanders off.
Practical Exercise: Mindful Breathing
1. Look for the spot where you can sit peacefully without any disruption by noise or anything that can get in your way.
2. Close your eyes or fix your gaze on a distant object so that your gaze will be less intense.
3. Shake your head a little and breathe gently through nose inhaling and mouth exhaling -every moment exposing you to calmness and freeing every tension accompanied by the exhalation of breath.
4. Gradually complete breathing at normal speed and then notice the air going in and out of your body.
5. Be aware of your abdomen, how it exhales or draws air in your mouth.
6. In cases where your thoughts are somewhere else, gently tell it off and get either of the two movements back to the in-and-out breathing without any negative commentary.
7. Trying to stick with this exercise for further 5-10 minutes is one of the strategies to improve your confidence level.
