The Others: Ruby & Nolan's Great Adventures in Space, #4
()
About this ebook
This is the continuing story of the adventures and misadventures of our two adolescent kids growing up on an uninhabited planet in another galaxy! Trouble seems to find them when they just want to have fun!
Ruby and Nolan were responsible for uniting the humans and the dragon community to work together to stop the Consortium from trying to extract payment for "settling" the planet with humans.
These dragons are artisans and more technologically advanced than their human friends. A new race of people is introduced to the human/dragon mix, and the kids are again the catalysts!
All Donzereli wanted to do was take his friends deep-sea fishing! He "borrowed" a VIP flying car and tricked the captain of the fishing boat into thinking Councilor Walkegon had booked the trip. The captain is unhappy having the puny humans on his boat!
Nolan catches a huge fish, and just as he is about to have his trophy picture taken, the whole group is netted and snatched up up, and away to meet the "Others!"
Our adventurous group discovers that the others aren't the abominable snowmen the dragons made them out to be. They are given free rein to tour the entire Keep!
Ruby and Donzereli find an amazing new, fun place to take the rest of the group. They called it The Amusement Park! Donzereli was a huge hit with the Other kids.
Out adventurers were not looking forward to going home to the punishment they deserved and would face the knowledge that it would not be their last adventure!
Dr. Allen felt guilty that he wouldn't face any punishment for his part in this adventure. He will always be ready to "help" on another adventure.

Creating worlds and characters and wielding power like a madwoman makes my characters happy, sad, angry, and have no redeeming qualities. I laugh aloud when writing a scene, and I have been known to cry when one of my favorites dies. I am a left-handed Gemini; what do you expect?

The Others - Brenda Colbath
My eternal thanks go to Ruby, Nolan, Ty, and Robin Weller for allowing me to publish these stories. It pleases me that you like the stories about your fictionalized adventures in outer space. I loved making the Barbie and G.I. Joe clothes for Ruby and Nolan, but putting you all in space was a blast. You asked me to publish this before Christmas, so I had to create a whole new adventure.
I am so proud of the Thank You notes sent to me by Ruby and Nolan that I wanted to share them.
Dear Brenda and Shirl
Thank you so much for the books! In the last book, I really liked the part about the Dragon Mall. The ending surprised me a lot!! I would’ve never guessed that they were going to be kidnapped!! Thank you so much, and I can’t wait for the next one! RUBY
Dear Brenda and Shirl
Thank you so much for the books that you wrote on the Amazon Book Store. I really enjoyed the first one, and I am working on the second one. I love you so much.
Sincerely, Nolan
Thanks again to my Daughter, Dawnzella, for allowing me to turn her into a dragon - a boy dragon, at that! She is always the first person to purchase my paperback.
My thanks to our Son, Chris, and our Grandchild, Jaz, for allowing me to use them as models for the characters of Damon and Jazz.
My love and thanks go to my talented Husband, Shirl, who reads each time I edit and create my covers.

Prologue
Our intrepid adventurers happily accept an invitation from their friend Donzereli to visit his Keep
in the northern mountains. They tell their parents they are going on a picnic. But in reality, they are secretly flying to Donzereli’s home via dragon flight!
They arrive and are surrounded by angry Adult Dragons, but realize the dragons have prepared for a lengthy visit! They are depressed when informed that their parents are coming to take them home! Oh, no!
Donzereli books them on a VIP deep-sea fishing trip without his parent's knowledge or permission! What could go wrong?
It’s just a fishing trip!
One reason could be being kidnapped by the Others.
The parents panic and make arrangements to rescue
them from the Abdominal Snowmen! Meanwhile, the kids go to the Amusement Park
in the keep, and Donzereli is recruited to fly them up to the top of the 50-foot waterslide.
The kids are oblivious to the danger when the three groups meet to regain their children. And meet another species of beings crowding their New Earth.
Another speed bump is on the way in the form of a Manager
to oversee the progress of the settlers!
Chapter 1 Where are we?
––––––––
Ahoy, ye Mateys! Welcome aboard the Jolly Roger! Mighty Pirates are we!
Donzereli said as he tossed brightly colored scarfs folded with an eye patch wrapped around them to Ruby, Nolan, Bonnie, Shamus, and Dr. Allen. He put his eye patch over one eye and bent down for Ruby to tie his scarf. She couldn’t help giggling at the sight of Donzereli with an eye patch and the scarf tied around his head. Pirate talk abounded, and Dr. Allen kept them enthralled with several tales scary enough to hold their interest until it was time to get down to the serious business of catching fish.
The ship that Master Algonen captained was massive, with a crew of 30 adult dragons and a 20-ton hold for filling with the many sea creatures that satisfied the Dragon's appetites! Dr. Allen found the specifics of the ship and was astounded at the size. The length compared to an aircraft carrier back on Old Earth. He guessed the size of the main mast to be ten feet in diameter. It held one huge sail that appeared to be made of metallic material that was flexible enough to wrap around the mast when necessary! He couldn’t wait to get on a computer and verify the specifics of this amazing ship!
The engine room housed several huge solar batteries to store the excess power derived from the solar panels installed conveniently to catch the sun's beams but not interfere with the movement of the many sturdy workers! Plus, the added wind power was harnessed by unfurling the sturdy sails snuggly wrapped around the several massive riggings until they were at sea.
This trip promised to be a fun fishing experience for Master Algonin’s
