The Lost City of Brunswick
Daniel, Uncle Winslo and Aunt Riley sat around the cabin's table eating freshly made clam soup. It was kept nice and warm thanks to the cabin's very own stove-top oven.
And as they quietly ate, Daniel asked, So why does my scarf begin to lose its powers if I do something bad or use it for personal use?
Uncle Winslo replied, I'm not sure if I understand yer question, Daniel. I thought I already explained the rules to ya.
Well, when Captain Jack Bonesy used his scarf, it was indeed, most powerful, yet he used it for evil.
Aunt Riley and Uncle Winslo both leaned their heads back now understanding Daniel's question.
Yes, that’s correct Daniel,
responded Aunt Riley. She then placed her spoon on the table and explained, "You see Daniel, your scarf's material was made from the Winter Garden, a place where good magic emanates. Bonesy's scarf however, was made from the depths of the Island of Mortar, a place where dark magic resides.
"Years ago, in a volcanic eruption, the black scarf shot out of the island’s main volcano along with hot molten lava, which, unfortunately, destroyed the Village of Konkuyo. When Captain Jack Bonesy and his men raided the village after the eruption, he found the long, black scarf resting upon a rock, cooled and ready to be worn. Instinctively, he knew something was magical about the scarf, but he couldn't quite tell what it was. So as he and his men stole every last item from the Konkuyo Village, Bonesy then decided to steal the scarf as well.
"However, legend has it, during one stormy night, Bonesy and his men were attacked by another group of pirates led by his nemesis Captain Ron Holiday. And as the thunder rolled in and the waves grew high, lightning too filled the sky, striking down upon Bonesy’s ship. But this did not stop Bonesy and his crew from fighting. No Daniel, Bonesy continued to battle diligently. That is until a bolt of lightning knocked him to the floor while wearing the scarf he had taken from the island. But as they saw it, his enemies all cheered, for they thought this had been the end of Bonesy’s reign.
"Yet, little did the gang of pirates know that the legend of Captain Jack Bonesy had only begun. So as Bonesy slowly stood up from his fall, he then looked down at his scarf and noticed the electricity flowing throughout. So with a surge of energy, Bonesy unraveled his scarf and began whipping it at Holiday’s crew, thus quickly learning how to transform his scarf with the single notion of a thought.
"You see, rumor has it, Bonesy transformed his scarf into a cannon, sinking Holiday’s entire fleet. And when his old nemesis met him face to face, Captain Ron Holiday didn’t stand a chance, as Bonesy pushed Holiday straight off his plank into the waters below.
So you see, Daniel, from that day on, Captain Jack Bonesy and his magical black scarf have been feared by all those brave enough to travel the high seas and beyond.
Wow, Aunt Riley.
replied Daniel nervously with his eyes open wide.
And as you have it Daniel, Bonesy’s scarf grows more and more powerful with the evil he creates, unlike yours, which grows more and more powerful with the good you portray.
So the more good Bonesy conducts, the weaker his scarf becomes?
In a sense, Daniel. It’s all in the balance of the scarves. Or, in the balance between good and evil,
answered his aunt. She then placed her spoon back in the bowl and continued, When we find Emory, everything will come together, Daniel. For the powers of a dragon are strong and full of magic. You’ll see.
Suddenly, they heard Julian yelling from the back of the boat. Quickly, they rushed to see what went wrong. Luckily, however, they noticed Julian standing there with a big smile upon his face.
Again, the giant yelled, Groh, lights!
And lights there were, as the entire ocean was illuminated with sparkles of both tiny and large fish swimming about. It was quite the spectacle. Daniel, Aunt Riley, and Uncle Winslo admired the luminescence of the sea as it reflected off the water into their eyes under the moonlit horizon. And as they remained mesmerized by the scenery of it all, a few tiny fish jumped in and out of the water. Surprisingly, even a big blue whale passed by, waving its massive fin just above the water line.
Wow, look at all the lights!
You know Daniel, when the sea is lit like this, the ocean Gods from the depths below are looking up at us in peace, guiding us to where we need to be,
replied Uncle Winslo.
Thus, after a few moments of memories shared together, Aunt Riley decided, Alright Daniel, we should get some rest before the sun rises, for tomorrow will require all the rest we can get.
And as the friendly giant stood guard outside, the three sailors rested their heads on the cabin bunks below throughout the remainder of the night.

Upon sunrise however, rays of sunlight peeked through Julian's eyelids, waking him from a brief slumber he endured during his guardian duties. But as Julian then rose to his feet, he then looked ahead at the land that now stood before them.
Groh, home!
shouted Julian with warmth and happiness in his heart.
Yes, the travelers finally entered the Ivory Bay, which meant only one thing, they were ever so closer to the Lost City of Brunswick. Slowly, Daniel walked out to the main deck, rubbing his eyes, in an attempt to awaken from his slumber.
But before he could muster out a single word, Daniel looked upon the bay and admired the beautiful tropical scenery of palm trees and white sanded beaches that laid before them.
The blue color of the water was vibrant as ever, with sparkles of light hitting the boat's wakes. And as Grandma Josephine said earlier, the climate was indeed perfect for incubating dragon eggs. Uncle Winslo, however, also awoke from his slumber. And as he walked out of the cabin yawning like a bear, he too joined Daniel standing next to the friendly giant.
He then placed his arm around his nephew and said, Ah, the Ivory Bay, quite magnificent, huh me boy?
Yes, Uncle Winslo, it's quite beautiful indeed,
replied Daniel.
Aunt Riley, now standing on the bow of the boat, shouted, Good morning Ivory Bay! It's certainly good to be back!
GRrroommee!
growled Julian across the bay.
And although Julian or the others didn't see any signs of Sightseekers quite just yet, they rode Uncle Winslo’s boat to the shore, docking it along the soft sand that now laid beneath their feet.
Yet as they all departed from the boat, Daniel stood there scratching his head and asked, Aunt Riley how much further to the Lost City of Brunswick?
Not too far Daniel. Only a few miles. We'll be able to go by foot from here.
So the brave team of four carried onward, walking through the hot sun and sand of the Ivory Bay. But further down the beach, Daniel grew tired, and so did his uncle.
Under a shaded palm tree however, Daniel suggested, Aunt Riley, is it quite alright if we take a break, my legs are getting tired.
Uncle Winslo contributed, Yes, and the heat is atrocious.
Groh, Julian so hot!
mumbled Julian wiping his brow.
And as Aunt Riley looked at her tired companions, she too popped a squat upon a nearby rock and said, Alright, take five everyone, we can rest here for a bit. But not for long. The further we walk into the interior of Ivory's jungle, the more susceptible we are of getting into trouble, or worse, falling into traps.
Uncle Winslo then leaned on the bottom of the palm tree and agreed, Yes, not for long, but ah it feels good to take a break and get out of the sun.
But as he continued to talk, the three looked at him as if he had three heads.
What? Why are you all looking at me like that?
asked Uncle Winslo, now concerned.
Uncle Winslo?
What is it, my boy?
You're floating!
And as his uncle continued to float, his legs now raised high above his head. Quickly though, Uncle Winslo wrapped his arms around the nearest palm tree, which kept him from floating away.
HA!
laughed Uncle Winslo.
On the other hand, Julian also began to feel something funny as he uttered, Gruh-oh!
And as the friendly giant started to float in the air, he too desperately reached for the nearest tree branch.
Daniel then asked, Aunt Riley what's going on?
And as Aunt Riley immediately knew what was happening, she yelled, Everyone, hold on to something! We’re in slow sand!
Hahaha, what's slow sand, Riley?
asked Uncle Winslo. And why can't I stop laughing?
Groh, Riley, you so funny!
replied Julian as he too burst out in laughter.
Everyone stay calm. The fumes in the sand crystals are toxic. They will make you laugh and float high in the air until it's too late!
Ha! That can't be good!
answered Uncle Winslo, continuing to laugh.
"Just try not to think of anything humorous. Ha. Alright? Haha! Oh no, it's
