39397.jpgThis thing is amazing, I can’t believe it actually still exists!
exclaimed June.
I don’t even know how we found this. The Firestaff was destroyed in the Black War. Legends told that the staff is the most powerful weapon in Trland,
answered Dylan.
This was a terrible idea. Everyone knows that if you disturb an ancient relic, a trap will open up. Don’t you, guys, know anything about traps?
said Collin.
Be quiet and stop being such a baby. My wolf Roccer will make quick work of any monsters that attack us. Don’t you believe in him?
questioned June.
Your last wolf died trying to save you, so how do you know it won’t be the same with Roccer?
snapped Collin.
June hadn’t thought of that yet. Just hearing about her last wolf hurt, she started to tear up. What’s wrong with you!
exploded Dylan. Instead of supporting her you made June cry. What kind of friend does that!
I was trying to be realistic, and why do you always take her side?
snapped Collin.
Uh-oh, guys, I think we have bigger problems to deal with,
said June.
It’s a mudslide run now!
exclaimed Dylan.
The mudslide almost crushed the trio, but they were okay, or so they thought. Roccer’s here, but where’s June?
asked Collin, brushing dirt off himself.
I don’t know, June, June, where are you?
screamed Dylan while rubbing his bruises.
Guys, I’m over here I need help!
shouted June coughing.
Oh no, are you okay?
screamed Dylan.
She was not okay; a gigantic rock was pinning her to the ground, and she couldn’t move her arms. She felt as if she had broken all her bones. Collin we need to get the rock off June and fast—I can hear cracking,
said Dylan, moving the first stone.
How am I supposed to do that?
asked Collin. Those rocks weigh more than us and you’re pretty big, no offense.
Hey! Anyways, get that log and try to move the stone,
ordered Dylan.
With a little hard work, they were able to save June and get her to a doctor. Hmm, I’m afraid she shattered three of her bones, but luckily we can fix up your bones with potions,
explained the doctor.
Good. You’ll be okay, June,
replied Collin.
Now that we got this out the way, I have something to show you,
whispered Dylan.
Nobody could believe it—he had grabbed the staff when no one was looking. Dylan, didn’t you listen to me?
asked Collin.
No, and I don’t care. This weapon will give a real beating to any monsters,
answered Dylan, holding up the staff.
Yeah, but we already have really powerful weapons,
replied Collin.
But we need better weapons at some point,
explained June. Weapons like this will slay monsters in a beat,
Um, but there’s only one Firestaff, who’s gonna get it?
questioned Collin scratching his head.
June, you found it, you keep it,
said Dylan.
For once, I agree with you Dylan,
replied Collin.
Enough chit–chat. We have to attend the adventurers’ dinner,
said June.
The dinner was a way for their families to celebrate new adventurers. A feast and toast was arranged for the trio’s journey tomorrow. June was scared to show her parents the staff but bailing out from this dinner was not an option. I can’t believe you’re going on your first adventure as a team,
said Collin’s father, Mr. Espenozia.
Ahem, attention it is time for the toast!
shouted June’s dad, Mr. Mulberry.
To good fortune and adventure!
yelled everyone.
After the toast, June decided to tell her dad about her new weapon. Umm, Dad I have something to tell you,
said June.
What’s up,
replied Mr. Mulberry.
We found a new weapon while exploring,
answered June.
That’s awesome! What is the weapon?
asked Mr. Mulberry.
It’s umm, the Firestaff,
squeaked June.
Whaat!
screamed the adults.
Your grandfather died trying to hide that—it’s too powerful!
yelled Mr. Mulberry.
Don’t yell at June. I was the one who gave it to her,
interrupted Dylan.
Whaaaat!
screamed the adults again.
Dylan, what’s wrong with you, and Collin, you were supposed to keep them out of trouble,
boomed Dylan’s father, Mr. Archer.
Hey, we have the power to make our own decisions!
snapped Collin back.
Everyone was shouting and throwing food at each other. There was so much chaos that June, Dylan, and Collin grabbed their stuff then stormed out of the house.
When the sun started to set, the trio quickly started to make a fire.
Do you think we were too harsh with our parents?
asked June.
Not really. They’re just jealous we have such good weapons,
answered Dylan.
I think we were too harsh on them,
said Collin while petting Roccer.
Oh, you’re one to talk, and in other news, remember what they said about my grandpa hiding the Firestaff?
asked June.
Yeah, maybe we should find more about him when we head out tomorrow,
answered Dylan.
You say that, but we are probably going to forget by tomorrow,
June replied.
You read my mind,
Dylan chuckled.
The trio continued to talk until night fell. When morning came, they woke up and headed out on their first adventure and found their first monster.
Guys, look—it’s an ogre,
said June.
Ogres are easy. It gets harder as you keep going,
replied Collin, readying his weapon.
I’ll use my Eternity Blaster and disintegrate him,
boomed Dylan with a cheeky smile forming on his face.
With little effort, Dylan took down the ogre, and the three of them continued their journey through Trland. They went past the Capiel Islands to the Mount Roclel. What the trio didn’t know was that the mountain was rigged with death traps for everyone who passed.
We are finally at Mount Roclel to get the Legendary Bow,
said Dylan looking at his map.
This looks too dangerous for us,
answered June, shivering.
To be honest, I agree with Dylan. We should get new weapons because you got one,
replied Collin pointing at him and Dylan.
"Well, okay the five most powerful weapons in the
