About this ebook
Achil and his companions have fled the Kingdom of Jin only to find themselves in greater peril than ever before. They have entered a world filled with terrible and horrifying creatures and an unending threat. Having landed on the shores of an unknown land; they immediately face a terror they thought they had left behind. And discover that no matter what you do, there is nowhere to run or hide from a threat that is relentless, unscrupulous and highly determined.
It is in Murcia that their fears concerning the Witch King of Baronia are confirmed. He is a man they say is more evil, vile and cunning than Jin, and that the Baronian Alliance is more malevolent than the Mandrake Imperium.
The small company decide to investigate whether the lands they need to enter are a greater threat to Western Suberia than the Kingdom of Jin. And so begins an adventure, into a world of diverse and opposing peoples. The coming of the new arrivals to this ancient land has unforeseen consequences for all concerned. A train of events are then put into motion that will alter the destiny of Baronia and the lands beyond its borders. They meet friend and foe alike, and find it difficult to distinguish one from the other, as they are confronted by many factions, blood feuds and warring tribes.
Entering Baronia is not an easy task as they have to fight their way through the Grimbak and are pitted against a new breed of Ajatar, one that is not aimless, one that has purpose and the willingness to pursue an aim that will lead to the destruction of Murcia.
It is in Atryaurm that one of their company is informed of their true heritage, and in the City of Artesia Queen Careen tells them of the many intrigues of Baronia and that their search for the truth must widen as their journey takes a turn. And so it is that they enter the great basin and hinterland of Baronia where they have to do battle with Dryads and Drakemen when they are sent on a quest to seek out the truth of what happened to Trefell. The company is forced to go their separate ways, in their search for the truth; an even greater conspiracy is revealed. One part of the company led by Achil on their journey to find Trefell meet Havlock a being of ancient origin, and the Demleech, a demon of Athrilla, Lord of the Underworld. The consequences of such a meeting is that one of their number is killed, and another hurt placing their quest in jeopardy.
Andreas with the help of Thrull seek the advice of the Warlock of Renders Cave and whilst this occurs another threat is revealed, as the Men of the North assault the caravan travelling toward the solstice celebrations, this leads to the battle at Red Roc Pass.
This is where the company of Achil meets its severest test. He knows that after they have journeyed so far and survived so many trials that the next one could always be the last one they face. There is no choice but to confront the relentless hate with a resolve and determination required to fight against the complete and utter contempt of individuals whose only desire is to enhance their own agenda, and are more than willing to leave death and destruction in their wake.
