    Sid Meyers: Vampire Slayer

I was walking up the old stairwell of our church’s nunnery wing and was most frightened. Vampires have been known to come around these parts, especially around the Ministry of St. Jude’s Academy of Holy Studies. The elder, Sister Mary Frances, hired me to inspect the area.

I’d seen haunted places in my day, but never as creepy as this one.

I continued to walk down the hall and noticed one of the doors opened slightly ajar. Light was peeking out of the room. I knew someone was inside. I approached the door and the light warmed my face. It felt nice. It was, after all, a cold night in late October.

I looked through the open space and could see Sister Catherine changing out of her Nun attire. I suddenly felt a calm sensation come over me.

Sister Catherine sat down in front of her mirror and tilted her head to the side. She closed her eyes and combed her hair. Her neck was completely exposed. For some reason I began to feel something strange take over me. My mouth began to water profusely. I wiped my mouth and, by chance, rubbed my finger along my tooth. It had oddly felt longer and sharper than usual.

A loud scream quickly gained my attention. I turned my head. I headed hurriedly but cautiously down the hall.

When I reached the end of the hall, I turned into an open doorway. Inside the room was an open window. The only light source in the room was that of a desk lamp. I approached the window. The cool incoming zephyr blew the white window curtains across my face. I poked my head outside but didn’t see a single soul in sight.

I turned my head and looked back at the desk. Upon the desk laid a hand written letter. It read:

    Dear Sisters,

I have been having nightmares lately. They have been most terrific and unimaginable. The paranoia has been too strong lately.  It feels like evil has plagued our institution. Please excuse me for my behavior, but I must leave the ministry. I do wish you all well. Tell Sister Mary Francis thank you for all she’s done.

    Sincerely,

    Your friend,

    Pheobes

That’s odd. I just saw her the other day, I thought to myself.

    Mr. Meyers!

It was sweet Sister Annie. She scared me nearly half to death. Timorous Sister Annie was always the one to feel most afraid in times like these. I was surprised she found herself up here all alone. At the moment, my heart was rapidly beating out of my chest.

Sister Annie. What on earth are you doing up here?

It’s Sister Phoebes, we can’t find her anywhere!

I suppose you better have a look at this then.

Sweet ghastly maledictions! She’s left the sisterhood! But why?

I’m not quite sure and I don’t want to disseminate any false rumors about her departure. But by the looks of it, however, she could have come into contact with a vampire. It’s why Sister Mary Frances contacted me after all.

    Oh heavens! gasped Sister Annie.

Did someone hear a scream earlier? asked Sister Catherine as she wrapped her lithe body around the open door.

"Sister Catherine, I was just about
