Fiory - M.E. Champey
Prologue
N ot too long before the birth of Daniel Stone, came a newborn Handinavian Ice Horse. Not to be confused with just any other Ice Horse, this Ice Horse was very special my friends. She came from the great lands of Handily, where it was cold and full of snow for a good portion of the year. But, summers, my friends, that’s where the land looked most beautiful. The colors of the grass fields were so rich and vast, that it truly looked like a sea of green. It was a perfect place for any type of young horse to run and play all day, especially for our story’s young Ice Horse named Fiory. And this is where our story begins…
1
Land of the Ice Horses
Long, long ago in the land of Handily there lived a magnificent Ice Horse named Fiory, who possessed incredible ice flying abilities. Yes, she would often demonstrate her talents while soaring over the shimmering waters of the nearby pond. Her mother, Hailey, was always by her side, encouraging her to explore the beauty of their winter wonderland. Fiory's father, William, was a brave Ice Horse who kept their family safe from any potential danger.
Mama! Look what I can do!
Fiory shouted as she ran and glided over the pond with her ice hooves.
Looking great, Fiory! But always remember to save your energy, and make sure there’s plenty of water for you to glide on!
Fiory’s mother instructed.
As Fiory ran out of water, she did come tumbling down to the ground.
Her mother picked her up and said, Don’t worry, dear. You’ll get better and better with practice.
Suddenly an evil reptilian sorcerer named Thernius appeared with his terrifying minions, known as spawns. The half crocodile, half lizard, was known for his dark magic and for capturing creatures with magical abilities. As soon as Fiory saw Thernius and his spawns, she knew that danger was approaching.
Fiory, go back with the others! I sense danger coming near!
No, Mama! I won’t leave you!
Hailey urged Fiory to run back to the safety of their herd, but Fiory continued to refuse. She was determined to protect them from Thernius.
Here Fiory, I want you to have this. It’s our family’s diamond necklace. It will protect you, always. Now go, Fiory! It’s far too dangerous here! Run!
Fiory finally listened to her mother and began to run away.
There it is! The diamond necklace! I want that necklace!
Thernius ordered.
As the spawns charged towards her, Hailey was filled with fear, but she knew that she had to fight back and protect her family. She used her powerful hooves to create shards of ice and frost that she hurled towards the spawns.
Ahh!
cried the minions, as Hailey’s shards froze them instantly.
But Hailey couldn't hold them back forever. The other ice horses tried to help Fiory’s mother. But there were just too many minions to fight back. One by one, the minions froze the ice horses into stone statues with their stun blasters.
Fiory ran as fast as she could, not daring to look back at the ransacked horse prairie behind her. She could hear the loud thuds of Thernius's spawns chasing after her, their evil cackles echoing through the frozen air.
Don’t let her get away!
Thernius called from a distance.
With every step, she clutched tightly to the diamond necklace that her mother had given her. It was the only thing that could protect her from Thernius' wicked magic. The necklace was not an ordinary piece of jewelry; it had been passed down from generation to
