Beauty and THE BEAST
Your mum probably told you ‘looks can be deceiving’, and never was that more true than in mythology. Leaving gods, goddesses and mortals to one side, as a rule, the more beautiful the creature, the more likely it is to be planning to rip your head off or turn you to stone. There are a few notable exceptions, such as the winged horse Pegasus, or unicorns in general, but generally, if it’s easy on the eye, it’s out to get you!
